We have a lot of holes to fill and I have so much faith in our new GM and scouts(Schaub, Jacoby Jones, Demeco, Spencer) that I think we could really use the extra picks. Assuming Spencer doesn't come back and isn't able to play(and I hope he is) I could see us taking a FS and an OT in the 2nd next year if we trade down. We could probably also get some other picks as well.

Depends who is there at our pick.

next year the only guy i want the texans to draft is D - Mac... if he is not avalible then trade with the falcons for 2 second picks.

McFadden would be nice, but I'm not expecting us to have to draft that high. OL is supposed to be DEEP next year. I'm thinking we can find an OT and a FS in the second. Is Michael Oher projected to go in the 1st or 2nd? I wouldn't mind him protecting Schaub's blind side.

michael oher is definitely a 1st rounder. if there is any 1st round OT i would take, its him. oher in the 1st and quintin demps in the 3rd would be a major success. if oher is not there, kenny phillips would be the pick, and we could take the best OT available in the 3rd unless theres someone better at another position.

Brief and to the point:

1)I'm 90% sure Oher will stay for his senior season, so he won't be available in next year's draft. He is a sure fire 1st rounder and as a senior in high school viewed by Tom Lemming as the Best NFL OL prospect to come around since Orlando Pace. wow.

2) Biggest holes for us imo is OL, RB, FS

3) I always like the idea of trading down and picking up a 2nd, esp. when we don't have one. Next year looks good at OL and RB so having a 2nd would be good.

4) I trust Smith in what he thinks is best. Take BPA unless a trade down would be better.

With any draft trade, you don't pull the trigger until draft day. You never know who will fall to you so trading beforehand never makes any sense. Unless you're getting a bonafide S-T-U-D, why limit your options?

What if the Texans had the 15 pick of the draft and a #2 ranked LT and a #2 ranked FS was still on the board. We have the option of picking or trading down to acquire more picks. It's good to have all your options in front of you rather than limiting them. Trading down doesn't always work since the level of talent at a paticular position of need could drop significantly.

Kenny Philips or conner OLB penn state. If our lb/s can cover the middle of the field then just watch our DL's sack #'s will def go up
