We have alot of people bashing us a bit because we signed more defense then offense. There is something to be said about this. IMO, a very good to a great defense HELPS a offensive several ways.

One..
Practice: If you are one of the top defense of the league, then your offensive line gets to practice against a good defense, which makes them better. A crappy defense helps a bit, but a good one helps people gel on the offensive line and works thier assignments.

In the past, our defense has been decent, but not as good as I think it is this year.
Two
I think a defense help less points and more turn overs helps a offense. More chances for us to win, and less points are scored, meaning less points we need to score to win.
Three
Momentum. A defense can turn a game with a good stop or a good hit. This pumps people up.
What do you think ?

Ravens won a Super Bowl with Trent Dilfer. Nuff said. Bucs didn't have much offense either. Watch the Raiders this year. Not to discredit myself but seriously, their defense would have won them 8-10 games last year easily if their offense had simply scored 15 points or so. They will be solid if they ever find some offense. Kubiak has the idea. Draft for a championship defense and find smart role players to chew up clock and keep the defense somewhat rested on offense. If "his" guys who are yet to prove anything can come in and show some real and unexpected firepower, Houston will be a contender in very short order. It might be 08' but the championship blueprint calls for a hardcore defense and some offense.
