I hope he tries to be a backup at all the positions so he can make the team. The more he is suited up for the games the more chances he has to get in and get experience.

I think it's a roundabout way of saying, 'you're on the bubble my friend'. I'd rather it be Lundy though. I wasn't impressed by him at all.

I think I have to agree with Mike230765.....we really don't know what that means. It's understandable.....at fb they only have Leach and the rookie....Cook is still hurt. Why not use a rb to lighten the load. The coach has already said that at the rb position it's going to come down to special teams. What do we know about the rbs playing special teams?

yep...coaches are looking at a way to keep him on the roster as a back up. He may not make this team.

Yeah, with the amout of depth we have at RB, it's inevitable one or two will be let go. IMO, if Walker is moved to the PS he'll be quickly picked up by another team. May the best players win.

see i don't look at it as though the coaches are letting him know they prefer lundy over him...i look at this as them saying the opposite...i think the coaches realize that he is a more explosive runner than lundy...and i think if given the chance taylor might surprise a lot of people...still with our runningback depth this year it will be hard for him, lundy, gado, and walker to make this team...you gotta figure that green and dayne are locks and all four of those guys are fighting for one spot...walker could easily earn a spot on the practice squad but the others i don't believe are eligiable anymore...jamel cook i believe is out...and if corey anderson who many like can step up he could end up on the final roster but i think the coaches are probably leaning more towards keeping leach and having him as the only FB on the roster...maybe that way they can keep four backs instead of just three

They might be thinking to go to a 2 back system where both backs are real threats to run and catch.

Simply put the more you can do the more chances you have to make the team. It sucks we can't keep all the players we like but hopefully if he is let go that we do it with class and allow him to go early enough he finds a roster spot elsewhere.

The copy-cat league lives. Deuce & Reggie in the backfield for New Orleans gave defenses things to think about last year. This may be our version.

Could be. I think the rookie from Tennessee, Anderson, makes the squad as the #2 FB.

That is what I stated. I said Portis and Droughns but I think it was Anderson and Portis.
Yeah, when I started my response, your response wasn't there. Then I had to do some work before I hit the Submit button.

i honestly would like to see the wishbone.......throw leach in as the down runner/fb in front......put in green and our 3rd string as dayne would be 2nd.......then go from there.....then at goalline......have leeach in front again but throw in dayne and taylor as both are very hard runners.....i think this would be ideal with the amount or rb's we have plus they all have untapped talent or as in green's position are just good lol......thoughts on wishbone?

Maybe the INVERTED wishbone?????????:

The Texans faced second-and-9 from their own 27-yard line against the Titans in Week 5. For most teams, that’s a passing down, but new offensive coordinator Joe Pendry wanted to establish the run. So he sent his team to the line with three running backs (http://www.footballoutsiders.com/2005/10/28/ramblings/too-deep-zone/3119/#) on the field: Domanick Davis as the deep halfback, Moran Norris and Jonathan Wells as fullbacks. With David Carr (http://www.footballoutsiders.com/2005/10/28/ramblings/too-deep-zone/3119/#) under center, the quartet of backs aligned in a loose diamond shape.
Establish the run? Sure. But this formation looked like something from the 1940s.
Still, it was successful. The Titans defense read Norris’ block off right tackle and over-pursued. Jonathan Wells (http://www.footballoutsiders.com/2005/10/28/ramblings/too-deep-zone/3119/#) helped seal off the back side. Davis crashed through a hole between the center and right guard (http://www.footballoutsiders.com/2005/10/28/ramblings/too-deep-zone/3119/#), gaining 44 yards before the Titans defense caught up to him.
If you think NFL offense is all about spreading the field with four and five wideout sets, think again. Three-back formations are making a comeback, most commonly in the form of the inverted wishbone: a four-point formation like the one the Texans used. And teams aren’t just running out of the new alignment, either; it’s becoming a regular part of the playbook for rushing and passing plays.

I think they didn't like the production cook gave and probably giving Taylor a chance at a different position because of so many RB's on our team. RB and FB are amost the same except you have to know how to block as a FB. I kind of liking the idea and hope cook gets the boot.

I think putting Taylor at FB is sheer genius on Kubiak's part. It gives us added explosiveness if Green AND Taylor are both back there. Taylor's good at catching the ball out of the backfield...plus, I think Kubiak's trying to toughen him up a little bit and trying to improve his pass blocking skills at the same time. Taylor has some nice elusiveness and we need a guy like him on the field.
Think about it this way also, opposing defenses aren't going to be worried about Chris Taylor lined up at FB. Just like in the home Tennessee game last year, Taylor lined up at FB for ONE play and ran a wheel route. He was wide open with a ton of green in front of him...unfortunately for him, dip****** never saw him. I think this is a perfect way to get Taylor some more playing time.

AD28 I think you hit the nail on the head. I agree with your assesment of this tactic. Plus it would allow us to get rid of Cook, not a move that would have much disagreement, atleast from us fans. Kubes is a Genius in my book, can't wait till we hit the field.
