HOUSTON — The Houston Texans hope Kevin Walter will become the receiver they've long looked for to take pressure off Andre Johnson.
Walter, who spent his first three seasons in Cincinnati, hasn't made much of an impact in four NFL seasons. But coach Gary Kubiak believes this could be his breakout year.
"I think what you're looking at right there is a player that earned the right to play," Kubiak said. "I went back and watched our film and it felt like if I gave Kevin Walter more chances to make plays, we win a few more games. That's what he is."

The 6-foot-3, 214-pound player has already made an impression on new quarterback Matt Schaub.
"Kevin's done a great job. He's a go-getter," Schaub said. "He wants to get better. He's a guy you want on your side. He knows his stuff and he's really coming along."

Don't forget about Davis. I think Walters is going to be our Ed McCaffrey. A definite possesion reciever who I think will also make some huge plays for us. Just thinking of our recieving corp and TE's along with the new field general I am looking for a breakout year from this team.

I heard yesterday on 610 that the titans were looking at Moulds. True or not, who knows?

I'm sure they are looking for a veteran WR to plug in while their youngsters groom.

That's true. I still find it puzzling we cut him. From what I understand the cap hits going to be it'd be smarter to have kept him. Ah well

don't know if it's true they are looking at Moulds but they must not have a good situation going on if Keyshawn turned them down.

The only thing that I've heard was that he belongs here .
They have several interviews with him on the homepage .

I feel like such a pesimist for saying this, but we've got 4 #3 ecievers and no clear cut #2. Anderson, Jones, Walter and Davis are all capable at the #3 spot, but are any of them up to taking pressure off Andre?

Why do you think that Walter isn't going to be able to be a good #2? Is it just a feeling or are you basing it on something? He only caught 17 passes last year. He only caught 19 passes the year before. But when he caught 19 passes, he was the #3 behind Chad Johnson and TJ Houshmanzadeh. Last year, judging from the evidence, he was open a lot and wasn't thrown to. When he was thrown to, he made some really good grabs.
I think Kubiak is planning on using Walter, Daniels, Green, and Putzier for possession types of catches and use them to take the pressure off of and free up AJ.
I think we're going to see the ball spread around a lot more this year.

Just remember last year we had a QB that rarely looked for anyone but AJ, and it was not because they were not open.
