I agree somewhat, but I think Jones will be the 4th reciever(I like him at #3, but I don't think that will happen) I believe that Davis will be the 3rd just because he is quick and has more experience. Either way though I will be happy.

I don't think walter will be moved out by the bye week. I think Walter will be the posession guy, AJ is the catch all homerun hitter, Jacoby is the slot man, Davis is your fourth deep pattern guy.

I'm surprised at how many people are doubting Walter. He's going to be a stud as our #2 WR. I think a lot of guys are just focusing too much on his previous stats. He's finally being given a fair chance to show his stuff and he won't disappoint.
I know Walter didn't get many balls thrown his way last year but I distinctly remember him making some clutch catches to pick up first downs when we needed them, and I don't remember him dropping any. IMO that's what we need at the #2 WR spot. Someone that can get open and pick up first downs. I'm fine with giving him a shot to earn the job.

I totally agree with you. I can see him having his breakout yr this yr. WR's usually have there breakout yr. in there 3rd possibly 4th season. He will surprise alot of people this coming season.

Do you really think we'll ever use 4 WRs? I'm thinking 3 WRs and Owen Daniel in passing situs. Green or Leach will be our single back in these formations. Having said that, I think Jones and Davis will "platoon" at the #3 spot unless/until one shows he's significantly better than the other.

He was thrown at 21 times, had 17 receptions, and 12 of them were first downs.
****.
I have a feeling he was open a lot more than that and a lot deeper than 15 yards.
He had a total of 160 yards but only 54 of those were YAC. That means that he got about 3 yards after each reception (as compared to Andre who got about 4.5 yac/r). All the catches of his that I remember, he was hit almost immediately.
I don't have a bad feeling about this guy at all.

As for the defensive line, it will look like this:Mario Williams - Anthony Maddox - Amobi Okoye - Anthony Weaver
Kubiak has said Mario is the starting RDE and Okoye will play next to him. That means--Weaver, Maddox, Okoye, Mario.

I think it will be Weaver-TJ-Okoye-Mario and probably Maddox spelling TJ on 3rd down rushing situations. but ofcourse I also think Greenwod will be the starting WS linebacker.

That's how I thought it was going to be also. Hopefully the right side of the line will be incredibly tough to run against so our linebakers can shade over to the left. I think adding Okoye helps everyone on the defense. Look for Weaver to have a solid year as the left end.

Right it down Kevin Walter will be the best #2 receiver the texans have ever had.

Looks like all of our pass rush pressure will be coming from the right side. I kind of thought they would put Okoye at the tackle opposit (not next to) Mario to sort of balance where the rush comes from and that would prevent scheming plays away from them. Of course, you could look at it that if they are both together, they might be harder to stop. I suspect that Babin will be the 3rd down LDE in most passing situations as he is a bit quicker on the pass rush than Weaver and Weaver is a bit better against the run.

Sorry guys...I just don't think Walters is #2 material....whether its Jones or Anderson, I just don't see Walters as more than a 3 or 4

Walter may not be a #2 receiver but he's still the best #2 receiver we've ever had. As for the D-Line I think it will look something like this.
Mario Okoye Maddox Weaver
Remember the RE is the one that goes against the LT. So if okoye is going to play next to mario this is the only position he can play at.

But why do you say that? He's got good hands and decent speed. He's also got good size - at 6-3/214 he's almost as big as Andre Johnson. If we pick up where we left off last year, we'll be a run-first team so that'll favor big WRs who can block downfield.
I see Jacoby Jones starting at KR and working his way into the WR rotation. There's a real log-jam for the other two spots - Davis, Adams (from Denver last yr), Anderson, J.Jones, O.Jones, and Terry Richardson (check out his bio!).
Wow! Surely we can find 3 guys --in addition to A.J.-- who can catch out of this bunch.

In listening to Kubes it sounds as if Walters will be our #2, or atleast is for now. I wonder if we throw some 4 and 5 WR sets in the playbook this year?

pro day ran a 4.47 and 4.43
With the excepyion of AJ, Carr simply did not use his WR's, so this will be the first year we really have a chance to see what they can do! I'm very excited about having 2 qbs that can read a defense and make things happen.
Maybe I'm expecting too much, but I believe the fans are in for a treat in '07--no, I'm not saying play-offs (could be though), but an effective QB will make all the difference in the world. It takes everyone working together to get this team where it needs to be/go and we now have the 'biggest' missing piece.
As for our starting #2/#3, there are-as many of you have mentioned- several choices for starters but the guys that stay on the field will be the ones that get results. By now, we all know that Kubiak expests players to play at a 'pro' level, which means he has a 'short' rope for a lack of results.
