What do you think of us trading Gado for some picks like a 3rd or 4th rounder. He isn't doing any good on our team right now. I think that because he was so good for GB a couple years ago, we could get an ok pick for him. Tell me what you think about this idea.

I dont think a team would even think about trading a 3rd-4th round pick for Gado....IF anything at all, a 7th round pick....or a conditional late round pick based on how Gado would perform with the new team...he was undrafted and was resigned this year by the Texans...obviously they want him for something, even if its only to take some reps in training camp....

I would imagine if the Texans thought they could get any team to give up a pick that high for Samkon, they would do so since they want/need more picks. However, would you trade a 3rd or 4th rounder for him? I don't think so.

I think it's worthwhile to keep him since he's a very cheap RB who has, in the past, shown he can produce at the NFL level. Last season's RB Carousel was a mess...I don't feel like any of our RB's had a chance to establish themselves week to week until Dayne came back from the foot troubles. Until then, one guy started one week with another as backup and then one of the two wouldn't play the next week and the previous week's starter was backing up.
Hopefully we won't see that this season and we won't need to worry a whole lot about RB's after Green and Dayne. I don't think Gado's a bad insurance policy though.
Probably not before he takes the MCAT.

Gado has a better chance hanging around this year because the Texans are incorporating more of the power-counter into the offense. He's more adept at that than the inside zone cutback stuff. I think Lundy will have a hard time making the team this year.

I agree with the other posters, there's no way we get a 4th or 5th pick for him. He's not that valuable. However I could see him being traded player-for-player in a deal later on this season if we happen to need some depth at another position. That's IF he makes the team of course. We're loaded at RB and Darius Walker is much more appealing than Gado IMO.

I don't think we really know at this point who our better backups are so the Texans need to have them go through camp to sort it out. Gado was at a disadvantage last year because he didn't get to go through training camp with the Texans, having been traded after the season was already under way. Right now he's listed as fourth on tne depth chart behind Green, Dayne and Lundy. Last year he and Lundy played in a lot of the same games with almost identical results as far as yards/carry. Neither of them got to play much after Vonta Leach became a blocker. I think it's going to be interesting to see what happens with the RB's this summer.

Let's not be so fast to write off Gado:

“I’m impressed with what he’s doing on the football field,” Kubiak said. “He reminds me, I told him the other day, I had Mike Anderson in Denver that had a rough year one year and then all of a sudden came back in the offseason and it was like he was possessed the way he practiced and worked.
“It was like holy smokes. You watch the kid out here practice right now and his effort on the field is incredible. He plans on getting something done. I would be very surprised if he doesn’t do it.”

IMO I don't even see him making the team this year.We are not near as desperate for R.Bs as we were last year when DD went down. That was the only reason he was brought here.
Maybe Samkon could stay on as a team doctor after he takes his MCAT.
Yeah, you know how Kubiak loves for his guys to contribute in multiple ways

Funny that we got him in a player-for-player deal, and you want to get rid of him the same way. (No flaming, just pointing out the irony).
I can just see it: every year Gado gets swapped straight up for some other player, and finishes his career having played for like 10 teams, each for 1 year.

I wouldn't put it past Rick Smith to arrange a multi-player deal that includes Gado and maybe Sage. (I don't hate Sage, in fact, I would like to see him get a starter's spot somewhere.)
On the other hand, we may need to keep Dr. Gado on the roster to apply first aid to opposing QB's after they get caught in the Amobi - Mario pancake plays.

You HAVE to say things like this if you want a 3rd or 4th....

For once The"Truth" makes a fair point- I doubt that Gado carries much trade value in terms of draft picks. Of course he made his point in the most trollish way possible, but I unfortunately agree with him on this one. I mean, he was traded for Morency, who, although he was a 3rd-round pick, was low on the depth chart when Kubiak took over (and the other teams probably knew it), meaning that he was more in the 5th-to-6th round pick value range.

Gado has no trade value.

Gado is a pick up off the scrapheap player at best. The guy has great work ethic, but face it the avg Career for a RB is 4 years. Gado will be in year 3 this year. Gado has an outstanding work ethic and you gotta like the guy, but we have talent at the RB position here this year. I wish the guy luck going through medical school.
You can post all the comments coach kubiak says but it doesn't mean he sticks. Coaches love work ethic but you can only love work ethic so much until you have to produce the results. I just think gado and Lundy dont make the team. To me Lundy lacks that initial burst, to me he gets the ball and he just kinda rambles. He doesn't have that initial acceleration that can consistently get him into the second level of the defense.
I think Walker will have an awesome training camp and he will take Lundy's spot on the depth chart.
GADO FOR A 3RD OR 4TH???!!! HAHAHA
Such a simple concept, even the contemptible troll can understand it.
But then, even he blows it...
He wouldnt go for anything more than a 5th !!!
Whoever said Gado has no trade value (at least outside the medical profession) had it correct.

Hmmmm.....
Darius Walker goes undrafted, but he's going to beat Gado out of a job.
Gado is going to get cut, but he's worth a third or fourth round pick.
Hmmmm......
The truth is that the NFL is full of RB's who just aren't quite good enough to start full time. In fact, every team has two or three guys in that situation. They may be able to step in for a game or two and show some flashes, but they just aren't good enough in one or more areas to perform well on a consistent basis. They will make their living on special teams and being available when the starter (and on good teams when the backup) goes down with injury.
They aren't worth a draft choice because any team can get one in the six or seventh rounds of the draft, as an unsigned free agent, or after they get cut from another team.

First of all Truth you need to get a life and go screw up your own teams message borads. I think we should trade Gado cause he is nothing on greene and dayne but i dont think he is worth much especially when trent green only when for 5th round pick
