For those of us who will watch the game tomorrow, do you have a routine?
Ive always thrown some meat on the grill and had a couple beers. Everyone knows not to mess with me. Actually, my wife watches with me, but I mean people calling my cell. The only two people allowed to call me this season are my bestfriend who will watch the game across town at work and more than likely call me during halftime to dissect every single good and bad play. And my friend who lives in McAllen and won't get the game. I will also throw on my Texans gear. And have my notebook by my side to take notes for Madden.

My routine out here in the Pacific NW starts at about 8am. I wake up, shower, throw on my Texans gear then head across town to pick up my brother. We usually stop for breakfast on the way back to my place. I have the Direct TV Sunday Ticket with SuperFan. My brother and I usually talk some smack before the game. From 8am to 10pm on Sundays it is all about football.

My only option will be if NFLN does a replay ... it will only happen if something spectacular happens.

My routine is to wake up at 12 and miss the kickoff. lol
Get up about 8:30 a.m. Shower, and get dressed. Go to the grocery store and buy pork chops, steaks, and sausage (Potato's as well for some homemade potato salad). Come home, marinate the meat and ask my beautiful wife that I love so much to please make the potato salad (LOL!). BBQ all the meat and the family (Mom, Dad, Brothers and Sister) begins showing up at the house. When all the meat is done it's about time to go and throw my Demeco Ryans jersey on, pop open a cold beer, enjoy the fruits of my labor and yell my *** off at the tv.

Watch MB's all morning until Radio 610 starts pre-game (about 9 o'clock I think). Listen to 610 pregame until 11 when FSN does Texans Huddle or someother pre-gamesque show, listen to 610 from 11:30 till Kick-off.
Watch and root until half-time when I realize I didn't properly prepare again-
Make mad dash to nearest convience store about 8 miles away, buy more beer, and dash back until I get stuck behind Granny doing 50 in a 70.
Rush in the door with 10 minutes left in the 3rd and spend those 10 mins questioning my wife about what I missed in the first 5 minutes.
That's pretty much my every Sunday.

I usually wake up around 4 am and run 15 miles. Then I shower, shave my head, and rub alcohol on it. After that I drink some raw eggs and tobasco and chase it down with 6 shots of Patron. Then I'll have my next door neighbor call and insult me for 10 mins to get me fired up. Finally, I'll have my best friend come over and punch me in the face as many times as points scored against us in the last game. Once I can see straight again I turn on the tv and watch some football!!

Oh my god, you do that too?! LOL. Funny stuff.
Wake up, buy some good ole' barbacoa (a classic pregame meal). Check the MB's. Watch pregame shows. Stop watching pegame shows when they start dissing the Texans. Put on my Texans gear. Take some drinks of the Battle Red Kool-Aid. Put a 12 pack in an ice chest near my recliner (good ole' Ethel). Watch Texans win. BBQ post game and celebrate with liters upon liters of Battle Red Kool-Aid. Not worry about work until Wednesday which leads to more partying....

I used to miss the football games because of work or just watched the highlights because I didn't like our former QB. I have that game set to DVR if I miss it somehow. I hope not to miss it with Schaub's first appearance.

i have a very very VERY strict superstitious tradition.wake up at 10, Home game means i wear my blue texans shirt, and my draft day hat (although i have the 07 one, its my superstition to wear the previous years). put on my pair of black house slippers, with a texans emblem sewn on (i love wome who can sew), jeans, and a houston logo football nerf type football in my hand. Play Madden, best of 3 texans vs opponent (in this case KC)....i play so much madden i usually score around 150-250 points in a game (5 minute quarters). This gets me confident about our team.
DURING THE GAME SUPERSTITIONS.
Kickoff: if we recieve watch it inside on my big screen, if we kick off, watch it on my back porch on my TV outside.
Defense:: always watch outside, light a cigarette, take a drag if we make a stop. if they get a first down i put out the cherry and re light it for a fresh start.
Offense:: always watch inside. Put on my battle red hat on top of my draft day hat, reverse with a bill going in the front and in the back. Slippers off for offense, they suffocate the QB. every first down i chug half a beer, any turn over, i pour out the can and throw it away, bad luck beer.
Touchdowns, icky shuffle
Defensive touchdowns, michael jackson dance
old lady = tell her to go play her sudoku puzzles or somethin for the next 3 hours
Food= burgers and pringles

LOL....wow! That sounds more like Tourettes than a superstition ;)
No offense but how's that working out for you? We haven't exactly won a ton of games. Ever think about changing the routine a little?
Turn those slippers inside out or something tomorrow....k ?
I keep my routine simple. I wake up at 11:15 and put on my Texans gear which is usually a Battle Red Nike T-shirt (I don't dare wear the #8 jersey until I get that name patched up), steel blue workout/jogging pants, Texans visor (the really nice red and blue one....I love that thing), and my Texans sandles.
Then I get out my game ball. Which is nothing more than an official Wilson NFL football. But it's the one that game in the package with the brown/white autograph ball that I took to the '06 draft party (I got a pic with Andre while he signed it.....love that thing). I pace a lot so I carry the game ball and do some imaginary play action behind the sofa
Then, depending on how we do, I either yell a lot, or yell a lot.....and drink a good amount of beer. The food depends on what I'm craving that day and can get in a 10-15 min window...maybe at half time....but it's usually wings or burgers. And I've got a mean *** grill. I'm ordering a Texans cover for it if we win so my Cowboy neighbor can see it from his yard.

Fellow musician. I was a handful of Texans fans when I lived in McAllen last fall/winter. Way too many **** Cowboys fans. It made me sick. I even recall a couple times when Cowboys players (Roy Williams & a couple others) came to like WalMart or some eye clinic. Or something. I hated them getting all the love and nothing for the Texans. I could care less! I still wore my Texans gear with pride!!!
That sounds more like Tourettes than a superstition ;)

Alright guys, who's been messing up for the last two weeks in their routine??
I'm going to take some of the blame for us not winning these past few weeks, due to me not eating barbacoa on Sunday mornings. I ate it the first two weeks and we were victorious, missed it these past two and it all went downhill. I pledge to eat barbacoa this Sunday to ensure a Texans victory. It's full-proof!!! Anyone else been slacking? lol...

Man I dont know what it is....lets see...I used to wear my Texans hardhat but they would play bad while wearing it so I would take it off and they played much better....so I figured I wouldnt even wear it for the indy game and although we played well with injuries we lost....last week I didnt wear it again and we lost and played like sh_it most of the game...there are a couple of other tiny things that I have already corrected....so its hard to tell which is the one causing all the bad karma...hopefully we right the ship this week.

Weeks one and 2 I went to the Green Turtle to watch the game. Week 3 I went to O'Brien's and on Sunday I didn't watch. It's my fault, not Petey's. Leave Petey alone.
