i watched the whole game but i failed to see anything dominant from the men in red.

All of the trolls and sports writers are right, Huard is a Stud. its not easy to throw for 168 yards 2 picks and 3 sacks.

Offence: Matt Schaub is the real deal. 225 yards, 72% completion percentage a TD and only 2 sacks and 1 INT behind the "worst o-line in the NFL". I love his poise, confidence, and his accuracy is phenominal. The "washed up" Ahman green ran for 73 yards, and didnt even play most of the 4th quarter. 4.6 YPC is washed up? ....Our offensive speed and talent is unrivaled, we are going places

Defence: No TD's Need i say more? no, but i will. Dunta had a pick and brought the wood on Gonzalez (who is 8 inches and 55 pounds larger than him) i guess that robbery didnt effect his gameplay at all. Also, Mario "the bust" Williams. 2 sacks!!!! a 38 yard TOUCH-FREAKIN-DOWN..i wish we had bush though, we could have had 30 yards rushing!!!!! YAY...Von Hutchins stepped it up, TRAVIS JOHNSON GOT A MOTHER ****IN PICK... The whole Linebacker corps was ruthless, and im pretty sure LJ being held to 43 yards was because he wasnt at full speed right, because hes the best running back since Jesus (yes jesus played football) and the Texans defence is the worst ever. Also they stopped them on all but 3 of their 11 third down attempts

****::::FUN FACT::::****

3 MORE COMPLETIONS AND HUARD WOULD HAVE SET A NEW RECORD............................................ ............FOR SHORTEST YARD PER RECEPTION EVER....trent geens looking might good right now aint he

Special teams

MATT TURK o my freaking god, 62 yard punt?!?!....from his own 5 gets it to the opposite 15? is he kicking with shoes made of flubber?

Mathis and jacoby jones didnt get any lanes, but didnt fumble....however Drummond simply couldnt hold on to the ball....shame really

Coaching

A++++++++++++++++++++ perfect play calling, perfect lineup, he would ahve gotten one more + but he put out a dime defence when i knew LJ was getting the ball

ALL IN ALL, our "BUSTS" have turned to "BOOMS" and our questions (and prayers) have been answered

Houston...We have liftoff

Matt Turk kicks with shoes made of flubber! that is high-larious. I am really happy with what our defense did today. Even though KCs offense is sad and pitiful, our D showed us what to expect from them:

3 sacks, 2 INT, 0TD

LOL....great post.

I'm not downplaying our win by any stretch, but as long as we're analyzing the game here are a few negatives that I feel we need to improve on.

No doubt we played a solid game but it was a shaky start. Our O went 3 and out on the first posession, and our D let their O march down the field. Luckily we stopped them and they missed the FG.

Our O-line had too many penalties and allowed a monster hit on Schaub, without even getting a body on Edwards. I'm just thankful Schaub held on to the ball and didn't get hurt. But he proved he is a big time QB by coming right back and throwing that TD to Andre.

And the 2 minute drill at the end of the 1st half was pathetic. A 10 yard holding penalty, and another sack to put us in 3rd and 35....that was embarassing. But Ahman had a nice run to give Turk some room to kick....and that guy just KILLS the football. I love our new punter.

We did not do a very good job of getting O Daniels involved in the game early.

The second half I thought we did an excellent job of controlling the ball and playing solid defense. Mario was huge, as was TJ, Kalu, and the rest of the D-line.

The 10 minute drive was big. That chewed up the clock and closed the door on a comeback, but we do NOT need to be going into a prevent D that early in the game. Had it not been for that we would be looking at a shutout.

Overall a very solid game that we can all be proud of. The coaches will have plenty of things to correct this week but that's what football is all about. We'll find out next week ho much progress this team has made when we go into a hostile environment against a very solid defense.

I'm excited about Texans football.....tonight I'll be able to get that sleep that I wasn't able to get last night ;)

IMO, we played reasonably well, certainly well enough to win. However, KC made us look better than we actually played. 1st quarter I was worried and then we seemed to start playing with more confidence and as the game went on we did better.

If you focus on any one quarter, or any sequence of drives, it's easy to see faults with the team. And that's legitimate. Those are the things that the coaching staff will address this coming week. But there's no question that the overall game was a win because of affirmative actions by our team. By a long shot.

At the end of the season, time may tell that we played an inferior team today, but we played an NFL team nevertheless, and we looked real good doing it. Next week is against a stronger opponent on the road, so we have our work cut out. GO TEXANS.

I agree next week the offense had better start off fast if were going to stay close to the panthers.

IMO we beat a bad team today. The interception was unnecessary. If Schaub would have put more on it, it is a TD. The O-Line play needs to get a lot better because we really couldn't do anything on the ground. Other than that, I love the 1st week win and look forward to the rest of the season.

i was wondering why we didnt use OD as much as we could have, maybe we're saving him for a suprise weapon against carolina....Also, Hydro, you may like to know i made sure to complete my pre game ritual 100%....i told you it works

Not only did the guys on the field play lights out but I think the others need a lot of credit. Rich Smith GM of the year he goes out trades for a safety for Babin and some where scratching their heads but look what happened we lose one in the first game of the season we could be a some trouble with out that heads up move by the GM. Coach's have turned these guys around and it shows big time not just on the the play on the field but attitude and a we are family connection. Lets not forget our owner brought a football team back to Houston was loved by all, but lost some of that luster because of Cass. and Capers, has decided that no this not going to work let me get the right people in here and bring a winning attitude, and he let them do what they needed to to make the player think they are winners, what this guy sucks has a losing attitude ok cut him we will eat the cap hit if these guys don't care to win. All kidding aside this team as a whole FO and the horse on the field have took leaps in progress.

That punt was HUGE. Kept us up 10-0 at half time. All 3 phases *O, D, SpeacialT* made plays.

They looked real tense early. I was getting kinda worried, but they settled down and took care of biz.

I'm happy, very very happy. Feels good to win.

also, i would like to add that we had 200+ passing yards...the "hometown hero" threw for 78 yards.....take your pick

reggie bush and vince young = inferior to our starters
