Wow, was my reaction to every punt by this guy. He had to have averaged at 45+ per punt. When the Texans had to punt, Turk pinned the ball inside the twenty and the chiefs spent most of their time on their side of the field. Field position was key because it made an inept Chiefs offense work even harder just to get to the Texans side of the field. We all loved chad( well most of us) but I am gald to have Turk because our defense will have a chance to bend and not break. Props to the coaching stafff for making the hard decision to get rid of an original Texan, Hopefully it pays off.

I used to cringe every time Chad Stanly punted. Now I am excited to see how far Turk booms it down the field. Definitely a difference maker in the game.

Punters are a weapon or they are a liability...today Turk earned his check. It was really nice to see Turk put KC about 20yrds deeper than they were hoping for each punt.

Turk did a fine job. Lots of guys earned their game checks today, and you know it's a complete effort when the P and the K get into the discussion. Brown made a nice tackle today, and kicked well too.

I'll go one further, not did only Turk do a great job today, special teams in general did great. I don't remember the announcers saying even once, "KC starts in great field position."

Did anyone else notice the sound of the boom coming from his punt compared to Stanleys?

I think that boom you heard was the football breaking the sound barrier from that kick he did. :p

It was nice to see the KC returner have to actually back up instead of sprinting forward to try to catch up to some shank like I saw almost every timme with Stanley.

One of the defining moments of me between this year's team and previous years' teams was Turks punt before half. In past years, Stanley would have shanked a punt and the other team would have at least got a field goal at the end of the half. Instead, Turk pinned the Chief back in their end of the field. It was beautiful!!! Side note, I saw on the transactions page the Texans finally officially (and quietly) released Chad Stanley from IR Saturday.

Everyone in my section was oohing and aahing when we punted. I don't know why it took this franchise 5 years to replace Stanley...for some reason we did that with a lot of nice guys who weren't really outstanding players. Hopefully we are past that. Turk was impressive to say the least.

I sit up in section 630 row M. I swear on my kids when Turk punts, I can hear it up there.

He punted very well I was really nervous when we punted from our endzone fearing giving KC good field postion but he punted us out of any bad field position.

I agree, but just to temper things just a bit, (i have vowed to keep an even keel this yr), Turk is older, will he still be booming punts in weeks 11-16? Probably! BUT lets give it a season. When I saw Brown make his tackle I was thinking, OH NO!!! If we lose Brown who's out there? Can't be much if KC can't find a decent kicker.

He will be big this year in field position with that cannon of a leg he has I was really really impressed with his kicks. I can't believe I am say this about a punter but wow shows how much a good punter can help a team.
