Okay Kubiak got mad when Jethro substituted in a passing situation by putting Travis Johnson in.
1st - Why would putting our first string DT make Kubiak mad? Wasn't Kubiak the guy that decided he's the best or top 2 best DT on the team this year?
2nd - Why does he not like substituting in that situation anyway? I'm assuming by "that situation" he is referring to passing situation.
Just want to understand.

unless you could hear the conversation....how do you know exactly what he was mad at? Just an honest question.

That is a Kubiak question. My guess is that he wanted Maddux in there on that particular situation.

I think what they ment by "that situation" was that it took too long to substitute. They waited too long to do the substitution. It was almost to the point where he didn't make it out there and they would have basically had 10 men on the field. I don't think they meant by a passing or running situtation. I think he will live with having the wrong man in there but he will not tollerate late substitutions or having 10 or 12 men on the field.

I believe Kubiak meant that he didn't want to sub in players when KC went to the no huddle. I could be wrong but that is my take

Agreed. And Kubiak was mad. He said so in quotes.
"That's a heck of a substitution on Jethro's part," Kubiak said, referring to defensive line coach Jethro Franklin. "I was screaming at him. I didn't want him to sub suys in that situation. I'm over there raising hands, and Travis goes in there and gets a pick, so it was a good job by Jethro. I don't like them swapping personnel like that."
