I think we can find quality there considering we wont be in the top 15 in draft order :) but that is a good problem to have.

yea i kno but i was thinking further in the draft since we dont have second rounders and our low first rounder is not gonna carry a lot of weight unless its a thin draft. with the success we will have this year i think a lot more free agents will look this way.

I think Demps could hold down the FS spot for a while. He started for the Ravens and Giants and if he can recapture his pre-injury form, he is going to be much better then what a rookie FS can offer. Same applies to Bolware. I see this season as an audition for both guys, hopefully they show enough to get the starting role and fill some holes in our secondary. #2 CB is still far from locked down, we could use more help at OLB as Clark and Barber are getting on in years, and there is always RB and OL to improve. We got a while to go before we "hope" to find backups in the early rounds.

Theres always room for improvement, but yeah FS, OLB, but Bennett is gonna be really good I think....

Really? In that case I'd make a push for Marion Barber III if I was Rick Smith. I think Barber's a better back than Jones.

I'm thinking that if they sign Turner, they will probably try and get rid of Barber. Right?

Actually id think theyd keep him since every team needs 2 good backs these days. Im sure Jones would be the one to go.

You know i would say kenny philips here, but after watching him this year, he looks really, really, really, really, really lost. You think if he keeps playin like he is right now he could last all the down to our 32nd pick :D:D:D

So you think we are trading down with the Colts?

jones is in the final year of his contract and they have not even attempted to extend him. barber i think would be on the block if he cant carry a good load like last year.

I'd be all for Hart out of Michigan (he seems to be the only guys still trying to play football there). I think he's the type of back that would excel in our offense, and he and Ahman could share the load his first year. Just a thought.

The only problem with that is we only signed demps to a one year deal.

I am not sure how much money we will have to sign people next year if someone has that info let me know. I here that we will have a lot to spend in 09.

Anyway if we have a good season we should be able to bring in some high quality player this off season and the next. I believe we have a solid team right now but lack a few player to be an elite team in the nfl.

When you draft as high as we do there is always talent available !!

In the draft, I would hope for some sort of stud LT, but those guys are never available in the bottom 16 really. With that, I would not mind any secondary help at all. Ballhawking safety, shut-down corner. Whatever works.

Ok, so now we have our 4th rounder sewn up, who else should we pick?

I believe Julius Jones will be a FA. I would suspect the let him go and keep Barber (I'd like to take Barber though). They also have Cle's 1st rd pick so the popular rumor is they'd be eying Darren McFadden too...yikes.

So you think we are trading down with the Colts?

Wrong. Colts will still win the superbowl but they traded that pick to San Fran so they could get Tony Ugoh. Therefore we'd be trading with San Francisco for the 32nd pick even though the colts won the Superbowl

I wouldn't mind seeing a stud CB/FS in the 1st round, but I also really like Steve Slaton. I need to watch all these RB's b/c I think we'll have a chance to have our pick between a few...I'm not near as familiar with any of them as most of y'all.

2008- 1st Rd: Defensive Back to play FS 3rd Rd: Running Back
2009- 1st Rd: Michael Oher LT Ole Miss 2nd Rd: OLB 3rd Rd: Pure Pass Rushing DE

I would have to go with DB, Ol then RB in the first round. Of course this depends which position we are, but in the 3rd round need a center.

Id rather draft CBs in the mid rounds and pay a pricey tag for a proven one in FA while those guys develop.

Meanwhile there are going to be a lot of franchise RBs out there for the taking I say get the one that they think will be best for our offense. I kinda like Mike Hart I like his style and his attitude. if he gets a first round grade i take him there if he has a late round grade pick him up in the 3rd or fourth.

What about Marcus McNeal from the Chargers? If I remember right he was a 2nd rounder. I think there are some diamonds in the rough at LT in the later rounds. We still could definetly get one in the latter part of the second.

I live in WV so I get to watch Slaton on a weekly basis. He is the real deal but does like to dance behind the line a little. He has one thing you can't teach though, and that is speed. He is one of the fastest backs I have ev er watched and has amazing cutback ability. I think if he comes out (only a junior) he would eb gone by the time we pick.
