I sense someone loves to take the contrarian view. That's a dead ringer for someone who is starved for attention.

Anyway, the Texans won 28-16 the last time we played, so you may want to rethink that statement, junior.

One thing's for sure. The Cowboys are the best NFL team in Texas.

I love the cowboys, but love the Texans more. But stop being a Texans hater and drink the kool-aid.

Second best.

Third if you count UT in the mix.

Knowing and believing the Cowbays are the better team is not akin to being a "Texans hater". It's just calling it the way it is.

The Texans already beat the Cowboys in game 3 of the preseason, where our starters dominated their starters and made all the Cowboy trolls who came to this board either apologize for being arrogant, or make up numerous exuses.

Remember, you are the same guy who said the Panthers are better than the Texans on both sides of the ball. Does this sound familiar: Carolina is "far superior, its not even arguable". Well, I beg to differ, as would everyone else who happened to watch game 2. Did ya catch that one buddy? I'll catch you up to speed in case you missed it, since you obviously dont follow the Texans much. Your prediction of 34-17 was very close, except you had the wrong team picked. The Houston Texans are now 2-0.

Oh yeah, heres another brilliant quote you dropped on us: "The idea that this is the best Texans team in franchise history is an opinion supported by nothing but paper". In case you havent been paying attention, this idea is also supported by our record (I believe this is the first time in franchise history the Texans have started out 2-0) and the game film.

Seriously dude, go home

I will say Cowboys are the best team in the NFC hands down at the moment.

Since 2002, the Cowboys have had three wining seasons, the Texans none.

We also have the same amount of playoff wins from 2002 to present as the Cowboys. Did you not get enough attention as a kid or something? Why do you get off to be a moron?

bsofa04
09-18-2007, 09:44 PM
Now that's funny. In your mind, not making the playoffs, or not even getting close to the playoffs is the same as earning a playoff berth and losing?

Insults aside.....can you answer that?

Yes I can. So you know, I was being sarcastic in my last post. Yes, it would have been nice to be a competitive team that could actually make it to the post season but that wasn't in the cards for us. Besides being an expansion franchise, C&C really screwed us up. But to compare a franchise that's been in existance for 40+ years to the Texans is pretty bad on your behalf. No one in their right mind would expect us to have some consistent success in our first 5 years.

Insults aside, if you could care less about the Texans (and we all know you don't care) why do you waste your time on this board? Do you really have that much free time in your day to troll other sites? Calling yourself a "football fan" then insulting the Texans makes you a troll. Answer that without wasting my time.

People here do that all the time.

No, no they don't. Just you. They'd get the same treatment you're getting if they did.

You haven't answered my question...........

Actually, someone here ealier was trying to compare the Cowboys to the Texans since the birth of the Texans. I pointed out accurately that during that span, the Cowboys have been in the playoffs three times.

I know that people here will support comparisons as long as such comparison is favorable to you.

Ok. How did the Cowboys do during their first 5 years?

Two things. The Cowboys started in a different era. One before Salary caps and free agency. I guess you didn't think of that.

During their formative years, the Cowboys were looked at as the model of how to start a new franchise.

I'm still waiting......

Yor question was dumb and was more of a speech than a question anyway.

Dumb huh? That's funny.

You don't have answer for that question. You are ignoring it for a reason. But I guess that's (LOL)......dumb. Tell you what, by not answering it you have already told me everything I need to know. The only way to stop a troll is to not respond. We're done here. Go Texans!

It's like a mythical number ... like a winning season after 5 years .

The salary cap is absoloutely a big reason it's easier to build a winning team more quickly than in the past. The salary cap in the NFL guarantees that quality free agents will be available every year for the rebuilding or building franchises. If there was no salary cap, the wealthies owners, like Paul Allen, would hold too much advantage over the moderately wealthy.

By saying "Yankmes" I assume you mean Yankees. They have won their fair share of championships in their sport and that isn't NFL Football in case you haven't noticed.

Look, not only are you a troll, but you are a jerk. There is no point in correcting someone's spelling error when it is obvious what they are talking about. Especially when you make your own spelling and grammatical errors.

I don't care how you root for a team. Why do you troll on this board?

I'm glad you've moved over to the NFL section, but it would be a classy move for you to just get off this board altogether.

And the question is always asked "why don't you like the Cowboys?" Thank you tahuyaman, it's Dallas fans like you that make it easy to dislike your team. Apples to apples, our first few years in existence are similar, since we've been in the league we have won the same number of playoff games. Your team has had a great deal of success that we would love to enjoy, and when we've been playing as long as Dallas, I'm sure we will.

[QUOTE=tahuyaman;36398]I knew that was going to happen.....someone now calle me a Dallas fan.

These are the teams someone has claimed I'm a fan of
Titans
Saints
Panthers
Colts
Seahawks
Patriots
Dallas

The Cowboys are a team with a rich championship history which deserves respect. The Cowboys have had many of the greatest players ever to play the game. Some also in the not too distant past.

I know jealousy and envy can cause bad fellings and I understand that, but you should guard against those feelings.

One thing you dont have to worry about, nobody is going to mistake you for a Texans fan.

Over 200 posts, and you havent managed to say anything nice about the Texans. Im sure if we had lost the Carolina game, you would have wasted no time coming here to rub it in our faces. But because the Texans won, you decided to try to pass over the game, and never even bring it up since it reflected well upon this organization. The first thing you came back to talk about after Sundays game was how good Vince Young looked. Just for fun, and to prove my point, lets compare his stats to Matt Schaub's

Vince Young, week 2......63% comp, 184 yds, 1 TD, 0 INT, 3 sacks, 95.3 QB rating
Matt Schaub, week 2......71% comp, 227 yds, 2 TD, 0 INT, 0 sacks, 119.2 QB rating

This is why someone might confuse you for a Titans fan. You didnt mention a word about Schaub's play, but you did come back and immediatly start talking about how wonderful you think Vince Young is doing. Nevermind that Vince's team lost on Sunday (and Schaub's team won), and nevermind that Schaub has done better than VY in just about every measureable catagory. You clearly have an agenda against the Texans. There is no other way to explain why you havent managed to say anything positive about the Texans in over 200 posts, especially when they have been doing so well this season. It takes a determined effort to aviod congratulating a team on playing so well (meanwhile talking up plenty of other teams and players along the way). Please answer me this one question, I just cant figure it out: why are you on this message board?

The Cowboys were a .500 team in their fith season. Something the Texans have yet to accomplish. In this era of free agency and salary caps that's weak.

If you look at post above I think you will see the Cowboys did not have a winning season til season 6. And I dont think 0-11 is the way a franchise wants to be modeled.

It was such a different time for sports when the Cowboys began...for instance very few...no owner today would probably stick with Coach Landry the way Clint Murchison did. And no doubt he was justified in that loyalty.

Just Earl

The biggest difeerence between then and now is the salary cap and free agency. Players weren't as mobile as they are today. Also the salary cap has helped even the competitive balance by creating a system where one or two teams can't essentially buy all the quality free agents available.

I think Dallas also created a scientific approach to scouting college players .
