QB - A
You really can't argue with anything Schaub did today. A QB rating of 119 should speak all for itself. He threaded the needle with great precision and torched the Panthers all day long with his accurate throws. The bootlegs were just on today. His ability to find Daniels on the blitz plays is paying off for this team because it keeps drives alive. Bringing the Texans back to life after being 14 points down was just something we've never seen before! We're going to the Super Bowl!!!!!!

RB - B
Ahman Green has been overshadowed in my opinion because of the rep that Schaub has been getting. Green is doing an awesome job on finding holes and making that one-cut burst for yards. Couple that and the huge ability for him to work with the offensive line and our offense has been a solid unit for weeks now. I know Dayne didn't get a lot of yards, but he did his job, he ran out the clock and didn't turn over the ball. We finally have an offense when you see our FB catching balls out of the backfield. This is a team we've been waiting for.

WR - B
Andre Johnson is lighting it up yardage wise and has grabbed 2 tds. What keeps this unit from getting an A is Where are the other WR's? So far it's a one man show.

TE - B
A Fumble by Daniels keeps him from getting an A, but he made some great catches this game.

Offensive Coordinator - A
Good game plan to keep Ahman out and let Dayne just run up the gut to kill the clock.

DL - A
Held the running game to 53 yards and averaged 3.11 yards a carry. That right there would get us into the playoffs. Sprinkle in 3 sacks and that is a good line so far.

LB - C
Ryans again is just all over the field, this guy has Pro-Bowl written all over him. His only flaw, and a potentially costly one was him not wrapping up the tackle against Steve Smith which led to a TD. The other 3 guys are pretty quite as far as making plays, but they are also silent from being mentioned as getting burned.

DB - B+
Dunta is just playing lights out right now. His ability to cut off the running angles and smelling out the run is on par for a Pro-Bowl Appearance. Switching him to Smith proved how good he is playing considering Smith was blanketed pretty well after that. 2 games and 2 int's, that is just fantastic. Faggins is once again exposed on a island. He is far better in man to man than in a zone. You can attribute at least a couple of the defensive sacks to coverage by this unit. Safeties are playing great as well. We are really smelling out the run well.

ST - A
Brown was once again solid, Turk is doing a great job in pinning back the offense towards its own goaline. Return men are not turning over the ball and are getting some yards. Very excited to see a turnover on special teams. That is a back breaker!

Defensive Coordinator - B
Great call to have Dunta blitz from the corner and catch the Panthers running game off guard. Great mix up of pass pressure blitzes and coverages. Leaving Faggins out on a Island against Smith was not a good decision, but that was overcome by them moving Dunta onto Smith. Very good adjustment considering Smith was pretty quite the rest of the way. (minus the fluke 70 yard run by Smith when nobody wrapped him up)

Head Coach - A
Getting on to Schaub for that throw to AJ that was almost intercepted was one of the best things for this team. Schuab is playing great, but Kubiak is still there to pressure him. Great decision to kill the clock with Dayne and hold onto the lead.

good post...glad to see you finally giving Dunta some love. Big ups to the o-line yesterday too. The Panthers have a physical proven D-line and the Texans offensive line did a good job keeping Schaub clean and keeping Peppers, Ruckers and Jenkins out of the PA system most of the day.

Nice assessment SES! I would maybe give the LB a C+ to B- for the simple fact that Danny Clark seems to be out there laying some wood when he gets the chance!

He also is a huge factor on our special teams coverage unit. He hits like a ton of bricks and almost destroyed one of our own guys #96, I believe (can't think of his name right off the bat).

I agree with everything except the Dayne part.

Interesting note from AJ--the 31 yd TD play was supposed to be to Walters but Schaub saw AJ come open and made the play. Good vision and confidence by Schaub to make that happen.

Do you not get to watch the games Andre? I would think for your birthday you would then get NFL sunday ticket instead of a Texans Tattoo...

I think the QB grade should be a B+. My only concern is that Schaub has made the same mistake 2 weeks in a row. He under threw AJ near the goal line, both passes should have been INTs (thankfully only the past last week was an INT). Schaub needs to put that ball up far enough that only AJ can go get it. I'm just surprised he's made the same mistake in consecutive weeks.

I think there was a guy over the top, but I could be wrong. That ball was forced and I think Schaub knew it. Supposedly he told the coach K that he wouldn't make that mistake again. Gotta like that confidence.

Worth noting: our D-Line has yet to surrender a rushing first down... let alone a rushing touchdown. Just saying.

The Texans gave up 5 rushing 1st downs against KC and 1 (by Delhomme) against the Panthers, but they have done very well.

Okeye did not look hurt to me.

He busted thru those defenders on the sack that didn't cause the fumble! Hopefully our d-line pressure continues to disrupt.
