I have had enough of all this VY and reggie bush talk. would yall let it go for once. $#*&@!!! we are texans fans!! we are in first place we have more wins than the titans and saints combined. we are avg like 27 points per game. we have one of the best QB's in the NFL in schaub. things that dont even show up in the stats (although his stats arent too "shauby" either), his leadership, his poise, his attitude! we have one of the best run defenses in the league (steelers, ravens, patriots). we have andre and ahman. cmon now please SHUT UP about VINCE YOUNG AND REGGIE BUSH. tired of these male groupies all over them. Get over it they are not on our team. and i am thankful that we got Mario, if you know anything about football, DEFENSE = CHAMPIONSHIPS!@@ look at bucs, ravens, colts, patriots. All dominant D-lines.! NOW STOP IT AND LETS GO TEXANS!

oh really, so richard seymour, ty warren, and ted washington were not dominant in the super bowl runs?? i tell ya, the football IQ level for some on this board is extremely low.

The Patriots have never had a dominant D Line...Defense doesn't win championships.....Points win championships

NE also played a 3-4 the whole time, where the D-linemen aren't supposed to account for as much pass-rush as the linebackers. But they certainly had and still have a pretty darn good D-line (especially Vince Wilfork, dude's a beast on the nose).

What and the Bears had a top notch defense last season and they still couldn't beat manning and the colts offense!

LOL @ YOU!!

the phrase DEFENSE=CAMPIONSHIPS doesnt mean that you automatically win the superbowl if you have a great defense...you still have to have some sort of offense which the bears were without. if only they had had a somewhat legit NFL quarterback then maybe they could have won...they did GET TO the superbowl solely because of their defense which says a lot about how important defense is. The colts were ultimate because they scored points all season to win games and then their defense clicked in the playoffs which allowed them to win the superbowl...

I am LOVING what i am seeing so far from the Texans D. That combined with our suddenly legit scoring offense...we are going places...

heres to the texans beating the colts with or without Andre this sunday!

LOL @ YOU!!

Cause they had Rex Grossman who puts his team on his back and carries them to a loss.

Even the best D needs points from the offense. They had a chance to win it in the 4th but Rex wouldnt be denied.

Allday, if you were GM of the Texans, we would be at the bottom of the league every year.

omg, lol @ you. It takes about 5 seconds more to type out words.
The Bears were missing the best pass rusher on their team (Harris) and their best secondary player (Brown). Even with those loses the D only gave up 22 points. That loss was on Rexy and the offense.

No..they weren't. Be careful how you use the word dominant. They were a good defensive line. That about covers it.

This is beside the point, but you could win a Super Bowl with a 25th ranked defense.

Indy is the only recent team to win with a bad regular season D, but they were dominant in the playoffs, to the point they carried the Colts to the SuperBowl- the offense was below average, only scoring 1 TD in the first two games.

FYI ... Richard Seymour , Ty Warren , and Vince Wilfork were all 1st round picks .

lol.. this is exactly why I have decided not to join this board, because of all the ignorant comments. I've been a Texans follower since the first year, and have followed them closely. I can confidently say that I am a bigger fan of this team than you are Neocon, and have alot more knowledge about our team and the NFL than you. I dont wanna come off as cocky and stubborn. I just Love my Texans so much and want them to win a title thats all. I don't wanna spend time on this board talking about what ifs like VY and Bush. Time to move on folks. And just because someone isn't a member of this board for a long time, does NOT mean that person hasn't been a hardcore fan since the beginning. Really ignorant thing to say...

Like it or not, the Texans are going to be linked with that draft and the failure to take either one of them for a long time.

Speaking of people showing up out of nowhere and talking out of their @$$.......

How exactly was that a failure, considering we have one of the top defenses in the league?

Your opinions always seem to be laced with negativity and speculation. What exactly is your agenda here?

He is a Vince Young loving Titan fan. If he paid attention to statistics, the national media, or the play on the field, he would realize that we made the right move. I am soooo looking forward to the Titans game this year.

For some reason there are Titans fans that seem to infest this board. Like I said earlier, "TitanFan" needs to concentrate his efforts on how he is going to win games despite having Vince Young at quarterback! Good luck!

People have also called me a Colts fan because I speak highly of Peyton Manning. They have also called me a Saints fan because I said Bush is a "phenominal" talent. They said I was a Carolina fan because I thought the Panthers were going to beat the Texans. They said I'm a Seahawks fan because I like Shaun Alexander and Matt Hasselbeck.

Now you can add Chargers fan to the mix, because I think Tomlinson is the best player in the NFL No wait, maybe I'm a Denver fan because I think Jay Cutler is going to develop into a fine QB. I guess one could say I'm a 49ers fan because I think Frank Gore is one of the most exciting RB's to break onto the scene lately.

Someone also claimed I was a Tampa Bay fan, but I can't recall why they said that.

Fine...you have no allegiance. Why don't you just go post in the NFL section?

defense wins championships. does not mean that only defense wins it. all three phases Offense, d, ST, are needed to win it all. However a top notch D is always the foundation to a championship caliber team. Maybe the colts were not dominant during the regular season. But their D was dominant when they needed to be during the playoffs. Like the other poster said, they only scored one offensive touchdown in 2 games or so? and when brady was driving the patriots down the field, the colts came away with a key int. caused by pressure from the d-line. the bucs had one of the most dominant d-lines in history, with simeon rice, sapp, mcfarland (who was injured during the super bowl yr) , ellis wyms, chartric darby, greg spires. they were key to that yr's superbowl run. cover 2 style D relies on pressure from the front four and the colts and bucs use that scheme. Don't tell me that the colts D-line is not dominant. their lb's and db's wouldnt be where they are without the d-line. reason for them letting cato june, jnick harper, jason david, and mike doss go and signning freeney up long term.

I agree, I dont post much, but that does not mean that if you post all day you are a bigger fan. I love this team, and have since I heard we got a team.
The GM, and coaches know why they didnt draft VY/RB and as I have said before on here, we didnt need either one, Carr signed an extention, and Davis was on the mend. get over it, if you like then so much go to there boards and jock them. GO TEXANS

You seem to take great pride in not allowing anyone to know what team you are a fan of. It's like a game to you. You think you are impressing everyone with your overall football knowledge and like to talk down to those that you feel know less than you, yet you make no claim about what your true intention is.

Personally I'm not impressed and could care less what team you are a "fan" of because you certainly don't deserve to call yourself a Texans fan, and those are the only ones that matter to me.

First, you have to join this board in order to be able to post which you are doing. IMO, you are coming off cocky and stubborn. It's a message board and there will be ignorant posts (comments) just as there will be great, insightful, and knowledgeable posts. I've had my fair share of ignorant posts and would like to think I may have had one or two that might have helped a few people see things a certain way. No you haven't been a part of this board long and no I don't think it makes you any less of a fan but it also doesn't mean everyone is going to change the make up of this board to your liking because you said so. You have to learn to pay attention to the threads and posts that interest you and ignore the rest. That's just how it is. It took me a little while to get into the swing of things and add some more layers of skin to my already chunky physique (spelling?) but I somehow pulled it off.

hahaha, of course I have to ignore some of the ones I don't like.. everything you said was smart and well put. But I don't think you are getting my point, that as a texans fan, and if you are one also, don't you want to stop hearing about this topic. I mean honestly, its been over a year, cut the crap about players that we didn't draft. It amazes me how some of you say that you also are tired of hearing about it, yet you defend it. Im real confused??? ?!?! I just want to have enjoyable and great debates about topics that are thought provoking and intelligent football talk. I love texans and all of its fans, but if you are still yapping about VY and Bush, with the way this season has gone so far, than you in my mind are not a texans fan.
