Is your current Oline the same crew of guys you had last year? .....and in 2005? Or is it a different group of guys?
Just wondering....tried to do a little research yesterday, but didn't find too much info to varify.
I would appriciate any help. Thanks.
Effectively the same group.
Winston ( our right tackle ) is our newest member, but from that.. mostly all orginial from David Carr days.

thanks......so none of the guys starting now were out last season due to injuries for a substantial amount of time or anything? FRom what I was looking at yesterday(your depth chart and player stats), it sure seemed that way. I am thinking that the website's depth chart is not accurate?
You guys got Okoey??? I thought he looked like a great prospect.

Everyone who is starting this year, was starting last. Our starting LT Spencer went down in a pre-season game. And so far, hasnt been able to come back yet.

Probably wants to know if the o-line Schaub has is a better o-line than the one Carr had.Same o-line,new quarterback, thats where our new success comes from, amongst other things

3 of the 5 starters were on the offensive line back in 2002 when we played our first game ever vs the Cowboys. Pitts, Weary and McKinney.

That's really kind of neat. Boy do they deserve what they have now.

There were many versions of the line last year. To say it is "the same line" is not correct. There was no consistent line.
It IS the same guys, but the current version of the line wasn't put together until late in the season when McKinney took the center position from Flanagan. At that time the sacks were reduced and we won the last 2 games.

To all the Colt fans...sporswriter79 is the biggest Carr apologist on the boards...has been for years. Take it with a grain.

No problem. The line we settled on for the last 2 games of 2006 is a good one, and is still in place. We are 4-0 behind it.

As everyone else said:
2006
LT: Charles Spencer played 1.5games then got injured (rookie-'06 3rd rd pick)
.....Ephraim Salaam started 14 games? he is still our current starting LT
LG: Chester Pitts-starter, he is still our starter
C: Mike Flannigan-new to team, came from green bay. started at C mostly I believe
....Steve McKinney-Played a lot of C as well IIRC, both Flannigan and Mckinney played C a lot last year and will continue this year..I treat them as 1 person :)
RG: Fred Weary, starter, he is still our starter
RT: Eric Winston, started some but not all games? I don't remember who else played rt, He is our starting RT this year and most of the end of '06
So yes it's the exact same line that Carr played behind.

Never use ESPN.com to find out OL stats, because since they don't usually record any notable stats, they count them as not playing. NFL.com is much better at telling you how much they played, for instance using McKinney: http://www.nfl.com/players/stevemckinney/profile?id=MCK510203
he started 6 games last year.

You can "treat them as one person", but, they aren't.
More correctly, it's the exact same line that Carr played behind for the last 2 games - which he won.
That's great though. Carr beat the Colts behind this line. Will be interesting if Schaub doesn't, because it's the "exact same line". Can't wait for Sunday.
If they hadnt just signed Leftwich, id gladly trade the Falcons Rosenfels for a 2nd and 4th :D

How soon we forget. Let me try to clear this up a little for the Falcon's fan, if he is still around.
The starting lineup at the beginning of last year (2006) was:
RT- Zach Wiegert
RG- Fred Weary
C - Mike Flanagan
LG- Chester Pitts
LT- Charles Spencer
Basically what happened, starting in game 2 with the loss of Spencer, was we changed our LT, RT and Center due to injuries or poor performance. Spencer was replaced by Salaam due to injury. He has played LT for us ever since. Wiegert went down about mid season (knee injury I think) and was replaced by Eric Winston (rookie). Winston has been the RT ever since, and Wiegert was cut in the offseason. Flanagan also went down in early to mid season (can't remember when) with a knee injury also. He was replaced by Drew Hodgdon who had troubles making the snap in the "shotgun" and just struggling in general. Finally, on the last 2 games, they put McKinney back at Center (he had been moved to Guard during Training Camp) and that's when things started to click.
So this years line looks like this:
RT- Eric Winston
RG- Fred Weary
C - Steve McKinney
LG- Chester Pitts
LT- Ephraim Salaam
That's it in a nutshell. Hope this answers your question.

It will be far more interesting (and relevant) to see if he can win more than 6 games this year.
