The reason why I posted here and not the NFL forum because this could also affect tailgators who bring alcohol to the tailgating. But if mods want to move this go ahead. They said the ban is too all team functions and guests so does this mean tailgates as well? I think this is a little harsh on people and think this will spark some media attention. Alcohol is a big part of sales for the team and affiliates. What do you all think

No, the teams aren't allowed to serve alcohol to their players, but it doesn't remotely deal with fans drinking at all.

As long as you're in a stadium seat and don't have a sideline pass.
"This prohibition extends not only to players but to all team personnel, as well as to other guests traveling with the team or who have access to club facilities," it said.
The ban was sent with the approval of the NFL Players Association and the player advisory council, a group of veterans appointed in early April to advise Goodell on player issues.
I wonder if the NFLPA actually voted on this or if the council rubber stamped the comish's edict on their own.

this was a good move too many players are getting in trouble for driving drunk and it needed to stop i give props to the commisioner!
