My wife asked me if I wanted Sirius or XM radio for our anniversary. I wanted whichever radio can get me 610am or any Houston Sports radio so that I can get a better scoop of what is going on with my teams and listen to the games since I live in Austin, Tennessee (Texas) and they will not show our games.
I don't know much about satelite radio so any help would be great.

It don't matter with XM and Sirius. They are going to merge soon and you will get the best of both worlds. I have XM and love MLB, but can't wait till the merge and get NFL and NBA as well. I still listen to 790 AM though on a daily basis for scoops and stuff. 610am I listen too , but they let go of Granato and so its boring now. I hope that helps.

So like if I get a Sirius radio installed in my truck, I can bring up the dial to 790am while I am still in Austin, and pick up that Houston station?

You will not receive radio stations in Houston with either XM or Sirius. Sirius has the best selection at this time if you're an NFL fan, as they carry all the games live. They also have NFL radio 24/7, and it's a good source of information.

Neither Sirius or XM carry 610 or 790 or any local Houston station but you can still switch to basic AM/FM radio if you want. That said, until the merger you'll be able to pick up Texans games on Sirius but not XM.I have Sirius and highly recommend it.

It's all the same, just pay the monthly fee, you receive all the programming they carry. You'll have to let them know if you wish to receive adult content (i.e. Playboy Radio), but everything else comes with your subscription fee. They do have deals on multiple radios, you can get a second subscription for like half price.

Cool. I appreciate that. Maybe I can swing a deal with my wife and tell her I want that for our anniversary this weekend and then she doesn't have to get me anything for Father's Day.
I had XM radio once in a car I bought a while back. I loved having the comedy station for long trips.

What happened with Granato? Why was he let go?

They wanted him locked into a long term deal, he said un-uh so they released him, Vandemeer and Ware doing Morining show with a shift of all other shows
