Terrible waist of two timeouts, and bad play calling. Kick the field goal dangit.

seriously, even if it's Kubiak himself.

two weeks of stupidity.

We chicken out and kick a FG instead of getting the TD.

We can't get Dayne into the end zone.

Dayne fumbles the pitch, but they had it sniffed out anyways...

And Kris chooses NOW to miss a FG.

I do not hate our players, except for Salaam and Faggins.

I absolutely despise whomever has been calling this game and whomever has been leading the gameplanning sessions for our offense.

What a waste of a day: A waste of TWO days (Colts game and now this one).

The bad playcalling started at the beginning of the game when we were trying to pound it with Dayne. We have to throw the ball and unfortunately we are missing out two big weapons in JJ and AJ.

Nope.

You're wrong. We just needed playcalling that was always moment-for-moment, and it seemed like the playcalling was great between the 20s but awful from one yard out.

Unreal.

Would you rather return to our pattented 1,2,3, punt form? If so, I'm sure Capers is looking for a HC job...

We lost the game when we couldnt get that TD on the one yard line. Kubiak should have pounded it in with Ron Dayne running behind Vonta Leach. Its what I expected he would do. Dayne almost always gets a yard or two, he is the least stuffed back in the NFL. Seriously. If we got that score we could have won the game. Bad play calling, coach.

We still have SOMEBODY up in the booth who is suggesting what plays to call, and then Kubiak is getting to choose whether to go with it or do something else.

A GOOD, UPSTANDING head coach will probably honor his playcaller (up in the booth) the vast majority of the time...but I think Kubiak is probably getting fed up with the junk that's been radio'd down to him.

Maybe he'll just call the whole dadgum game nect week.

This was stupid with a capital S.

Horrible playcalling

Kubiak has a booth guy calling plaus down.

Kubiak needs to override the booth guy(s) and do what he knows we should do.

Kubiak wanted to go for it earlier in the game, near midfield, but the booth guy radio'd down and said, "Hey hey hey...calm down, we're only down by 3 Gary..." I GUARANTEE you that's what happened. Kubiak was saying go for it, and then you see him stare off into space as if he's listening to the booth guy, and he pulls the offense off the field.

THAT RIGHT THERE was the whole enchilada all game long: Play it safe, we're OK, blah blah blah.

Kubiak needs to leave the red challenge flag alone, put the headset down, and just call the game.

Not bad play calling bad running by the RB! Green would of made that run!

Agree completely. No one on our team except for Andre Davis deserved their pay checks this week. Richard Smith needs to lose his job and if Kubiak continues with his horrible clock management he needs to go as well.

Salaam and Dayne need to get cut in my opinion. The fat *** thinks he is shifty and dances instead of ****ing hitting the hole. I am beyond pissed.

Green would not have made the run, seeing as it wasnt a handoff on the play I am talking about. It was bad play calling.

I've been saying for weeks that our OLine and Secondary are our weakest positions. If we don't get a decent left tackle in the draft or through free agency, the FO is blind. Salaam gets manhandled week in and week out. Faggins is just humorous. I think he had two penalties on one play, holding and pass interference. It makes me sick!

Bad play calling for the personnel we had on the field...Dayne played like stuff that comes out of a bull's ***! Too many penalties and no defensive turnovers and Faggins being Faggins...**** I need a drink

Salaam is not even that bad yeah he had a bad game. But he dominated against Carolina going against Julius Peppers.

A lot was poor execution by the players, though there were some sloppy calls mixed in as well. Honestly though the thing that got me was how conservative we were playing at the start of the game. Schaub was showing the ability to pass but we didn't rely on that until we were behind and we had to. They should have had him test the D earlier than he did, like Atlanta had Harrington do with us.

I guess I just didn't like the first series or whatever it was. Our strength is passing the ball and when we are missing our two best receivers, it is hard to accomplish much. That said, Andre Davis played great today and should get a lot of credit for keeping the game as close as it was.

Of course everyone gets mad when the players don't execute the play calls. Take a deep breath and be rational.

We get stuffed inside. We decide to pitch the ball to Dayne and use his power to get in on the outside. Why is that so irrational of a play call? Use your brains people.

Bottom line: We did not execute.

haha w/e you guys saying fire our fo and team are being rediculous....thats how cities lose franchises...so you need to just relax and see how we rebound

I don't think we are going to lose the franchise. If I had to bet, I'd say the stadium is full and loud next week. The Texans just need to get healthy, pull it together, and learn from their mistakes. No one, except the fairweather fans, are giving up on this team. We still have a shot at having a winning record this season. Clearly, our weakest link is Faggins, but other than that we have a solid team that can compete with anyone.

im sayin declan that the people who want to fire our fo is being rediculous and if we continue to get rid of our coaches when we lose to poor teams i bet our franchise moves

Look, no one on this board has any say in whether or not we fire our front office personel. Smith and Kubiak have done a great job turning this team around. We only had six wins last season, and I feel like we still have the potential to get 9-10 this season. Anyone saying we should fire anyone in our FO is delusional. It was one game. We are night and day better than the team we fielded last year. There is nothing the FO can do about injuries. I truly feel that if Green, AJ, JJ and Mathis were healthy, this would have been, at the very least, a much more competitive game. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about Faggins, but he wasn't the only problem. If you remember our first two games, we caused turnovers that lead to scores. Today we give up a fumble that puts Atlanta in great field position for a score. I think this game was an anomoly and we will come back and win next week.

Go cry me a river if you don't agree with me. The important thing is that I'm right and you're wrong. Just deal with it.

No need to be conceited. Kubiak could have managed the clock better, but before the half he drove us down for a field goal. I think the playcalling was more of the problem. That, and our secondary gave up too much yardage. Personally, I'm just going to chalk it up as Harrington had a career day and we couldn't stop him. Our defense should be better than that.

TexasBaller

Yes it was a lil of bad playcalling today. The pitch to Dayne was not a good call simply because I wouldn't trust Dayne to catch a quick pitch like that and he simply don't have the speed to get to the corner. You got to run plays to go with the personnel you got on the field. And the misdirection on the goal line trying to pull a guard is not Dayne game just let him plow behind the line straight ahead with a fullback. Maybe extra lineman to replace the TE maybe Studdard or somebody, when you on the 1 yard line its time to get nasty not cute

DeclanJr

I forget what day he does it, but Kubiak goes on Sportsradio 610 AM and fields questions from fans regarding the previous game. I think anyone who has questions should call in and either vent or ask a specific question about a play that bothered you during the game.

DTexan

I think the play-calling was shotty all day. You can't make all your 3rd down plays "statement" plays. It seemed as though we converted back to playing for 'just enough for the first down' again.

And, on that last series....after the TD was turned over....a QB sneak should've been run. You ask why....he!!, why not? Shaub just da*n nere got us a TD...why not lean on that D-Line one more time?

But, for the most part...this lost was like the last one. A game we should've won. We've gotta hurry up and get healthy.
