One of the few bright spots of this game. Accumulated 117 yards on just 5 receptions. 23.4 yards per reception! The guy put his body on the line to make plays. He's made some amazing catches the last two games. I think once everyone is healthy, Davis should be our #2 WR behind Johnson and ahead of Jacobi.

If you look at our depth chart of receivers with Johnson, Davis, Jones, Walter, Daniels, and Mathis, I'm pretty sure we're set at WR. It might be the only offensive position we're set at besides QB.

And kudos to Okoye for his fourth sack of the season. DeMeco Ryan got one too.

davis is awesome, but to comment on the above, kevin wlater is a great reciever and blocker with great hands, hes big and fast, dont under rate that man...

not under rating but we have 3 guys on our depth better than him...so we could trade him and get as close to a 2nd as possible

Why trade him? With all the injuries at receiver he's been valuable in stepping up.

You can never have enough quality depth.

I'm thinking AJ will be back before Jacoby. Let Davis take JJ's spot for a while.

I like Andre Davis, I really do.

I like to imagine the following scenario on passing downs...

A. Davis - Streaking 15 yards downfield.
A. Johnson - About 7-8 yards from scrimmage, slanting towards the sideline.
O. Daniels - 4-5 yards from scrimmage, somewhere in the middle
A. Greene - Standing 0-1 yards from scrimmage on a flat

Then mixing up the roles every few downs to confuse the defense.

It's a wonderful dream.. but I look forward to seeing what a coach, who's more creative than me, could do with that.

It might be FOR GOOD if he keeps playing like this. JJ's main effectiveness is as a returner.

After today, there is no way having Davis on the bench can be justified.

He has been an unappreciated wide receiver since his Virginia Tech days. He was a huge part of that offense that went to the championship. IMO he is a great receiver who doesn’t revel in the spotlight and therefore isn’t as popular as others NFL receivers.

He should be our second receiver. Anyone who watches him knows he can play.

He doesn't have as good playmaking skill as Jacoby Jone's. He doesn't have the hands that Walters has. He's stepped up HUGE for us but he is in no way a 2nd string WR. He should definitely play and contribute though.

I agree with half of your post. I think Jacoby has the bitg "it" factor and will pan out to be a great WR for this team. I'm speculating because he doesn't have much experience, but I think JJ will be much better than Walter or Davis in the long run.

I disagree that Davis doesn't have the hands that Walter has. So far Davis has proven his hands may be better. The long catch last week was against excellent coverage, and today he caught the TD pass from BEHIND the defender. If that doesn't demonstrate some excellent hands I don't know what does. He is definitely an upgrade over Walter, who belongs in the slot IMO.

I agree with half your post as well. As is, without Jacoby, Walters does belong in the slot and Davis as one of the flankers. In the long run, Walters is a more trust worthy receiver than Davis. Davis has made some superb catches these past two weeks and I'm not taking anything away from him. When Jones and Johnson are well, he should play the slot with Walters and Johnson split out. We already have two play makers in the game with Johnson and Jones in the game, and we need a trust-worthy, good blocking, and good route-running WR to feed off of them. You get that more with Walters.

walter has good hands, good routes, and great blocking, jj has quickness, mediocre hands, and a catchy name

I can't disagree. I think we have plenty of talent in all of our WRs. They just need to play together for a full season or longer to determine who fits best where. One thing is for sure. We can't afford to NOT have Davis active more often. He's been the only big play threat since AJ and Jones went down. I can see more 4 wide sets in the future with AJ, JJ, AD, and KW when they're all healthy.
