which guy not out there hurt our team more today?

I assume you would ask this, only if you didn't think it was Andre. I'd like to hear your argument against why it wasn't.

Would you rather have your best player period or your best special teams player?

i still think wed be 4-0 with AJ

Best Special Teamer...no question. Field position is key.
We showed last week and this week that we can win without AJ and Ahman.
So you'd rather have devon hester than peyton manning?

It would def have to be ahman green. dayne and his inability to hit a proper hole vs his teammate in the back and his inablility to pick up CRUCIAL 3RD AND 4TH AND SHORTS KILLED US, OUR DRIVES, OUR MOMENTUM, AND OUR SPIRIT TODAY.

ahman is the biggiest key, with andre second.

I say we deeply missed Ahman Green. Anyone doubt he would have picked up the 3rd and 1s today?
I had Dayne's back until today. What a horrible performance.

I thought you were just talking about the Texans.
But now that I think about it, for one game, yeah I would.

Are you kidding yourself??? What did you see last week or this week for that matter that resembled anything like a running game to you??? Just a little FYI this offense is dependant on a successful running game and getting stopped on 3rd and 1 and stuffed on 4th and 1's isnt going to do ANYTHING BUT DEMOLISH OUR CHANCES OF WINNING. No play action pass, no keeping the chains moving, therefore no long sustaining drives that produce points.

I'll be one of the first to say how important field positions are in games but saying you'd rather have hester over manning is just silly. Let's see, how'd that work out for the bears last year in the super bowl?
Wolf123
09-30-2007, 07:59 PM
What happened in last years super bowl? Yea great return man lost out to Peytan
Wolf123
09-30-2007, 08:04 PM
And I've never seen a great return man win one either! Fact is a great Qb outplayed a great return man!
whatyouknow45
09-30-2007, 08:05 PM
But we're not talking about the Super Bowl! Dan Marino is the greatest QB to ever play the game of football. Never went to a Super Bowl. My poimt: Great QBs aren't necessarily the difference between winning and losing.
Dude you may be the most clueless person I've ever heard talk about football. Lets use the super bowl last year, (AS WE ARE JUST TALKING ABOUT ONE GAME, RIGHT?) flip flop Peyton for Grossman and Hester for whoever the Colts stud return man is, oh thats right they don't have one!!, anyways the Bears win that game. I'm now going to pretty much take any comment you make about football with a grain of salt because it's painfully obvious that you don't know much.
EDIT: By the way: one game does in fact = the super bowl

You had to expect comments like that, since what you said is pretty ludacris. Every coach in the world would trade having hester on his team, to having peytan manning!
Sprtsfanatic
09-30-2007, 08:19 PM
Example:
I could just as easily win a regular season game with Pennington as my QB and Hester as my PR.
I could also just as easily win a regular season game with Manning as my QB and an average KR/PR.
Point is...it's all about personal preference.
My preference for one lousy game...exactly what I have said.
We again shall agree to disagree.
you have now proven that you are clueless...but that does explain all of the ridiculous trade threads you start.....now if I can only find that thread about getting rid of you....

He's just one of those guys who likes being different for the sake of being different. No matter how wrong he is, and my god how wrong he is. Lombardi couldn't convince me that Hester is more valuable than Peyton. Oh thats right, we're talking about one game!!

I say Ahman. Not just because we could've used him to pick up those first downs on short yardage situation, but he's missed more because of his pass blocking IMO. Schaub has had to scramble a LOT in the last two games because it seems someone is always coming clean on a blitz or when an assignment is missed. I cringe ever time Schaub takes a big hit. One of these times he might not get up :(

I agree... RB is the biggest reason we've lost the last two games. Schaub has passed for more yards the last two games then he did the first two, while the RBs have rushed for a combined 108 yards (40 last week and 68 this week)

Kubiaks offense work much smoother with a threat in the backfield.

How are we going to get him if we draft a WR in round 1?
whatyouknow45
09-30-2007, 08:52 PM
Just imagining different scenarios...
Manningham or Rice would be alright with me...
But then again so would Washington and Tribble.
If we draft a WR, especially one who isn't a stud, in the 1st round I will NEVER be a Texans fan again and I can say that confidently because I know they never will. I mean, barring something really insane like Jones and Johnson both going out with career ending injuries. You definitely love your Madden, I bet your offense is EXPLOSIVE.;)

Thats accurate but you can't exclude safety from the list.
Wolf123
09-30-2007, 09:01 PM
None of those players is considered above average and if the right player is there I could definatly see the texans pick a safety.
whatyouknow45
09-30-2007, 09:04 PM
Our safety's, including our injured starters, are pretty bad. Drafting one in the late rounds or if one falls in the 2nd or 3rd would be a great pick-up.
Oh, and Mario Manningham isn't very good as a first round pick. It's very possible he doesn't even go in the first 3 rounds.
Wolf123
09-30-2007, 09:07 PM

I don't think you can put a tag on who was missed most when you drop a game to Joey Harrington and the Falcons. I will say that Andre Johnson's speed and presence could have been very useful against a poor secondary. Also, Ahman Green proved that he is a more valuable asset than most originally projected. Dayne also proved that he is not starting material, but most of us knew this already.
Wolf123
09-30-2007, 09:12 PM
I doubt he will get injured and still be a first round. The only thing that could get him back in the first round would be RAW speed.

People who DON'T consider Chauncey Washington a stud are out of their freaking minds!! Kirk Herbstreit, who's opinions I admire tremendously, was practically drooling over him last night...and for good reason. The guy can run over just about anything.
And Shawn Crable...dude's all over the field on gameday.

Speed for WR isn't that over rated! Speed is essential for both WR and CB

You don't like Kirk?
He's SC homer and he didn't even play for SC!!
Wolf123
09-30-2007, 09:21 PM
Thats a good example, but he's one of the exceptions and not of the rules. Looke at steve smith, Roy williams, donald driver, andre johnson.
whatyouknow45
09-30-2007, 09:26 PM
That would be Mark May. Kirk's fond of OSU because he played there. Nevertheless, he always gives a fair, unbiased opinion on any team/player.
Oh God, how Mark May has a job is truly beyond me. He must has some comprimising pictures of producers.
What you said about Kirk is completely untrue. He's a SC homer and I still haven't figured out why.

Ok, Back to the original question...
Ahman Green was missed today. Dayne didn't do anything today. I would have like to even Samkon Gado get some time!!!

Our O line was a mess!!! Steve Mckinney is why... CB Faggins didnt help at all today.. Oh Yeah RB position could use some help, and Kick return, Oh and the Defense could do some more too. But I'd like to win the Lotto to...
