What we need most right now is a healthy Green and somebody to replace Faggins. Those are the two biggest problems. AJ being out isn't really a problem, but it sure will be nice when he and DAVIS are starting!
I won't get all into what to do about Faggins, but he is the weakest link. It's not his fault, really. No team should rely on a 6th round pick to start at corner for so long.

We need to get a new trainer or something. Just messing, seriously, need to quit giving opposing recievers too much space at the line of scrimmage. We didn't play Indy yesterday and I felt we had the same gameplan.

No more drive killing penalties from Salaam. No more turnovers. I think that would help the O a lot.
The D need really made me sad. How could they let Harrington move the ball on them like that. Just ripped my heart out. I would love to see Richard Smith take more chances with the blitz, we really need to take a few more chances IMO since Ahman and Andre are out.

I like our chances going into this game. The Dolphins don't really have a threat at WR and Trent Green isn't known as a great quarterback. Their RB, Ronnie Brown, had a career day with 134 yds on the ground and 73 yds receiving on 6 receptions. Their TE Chris Chambers is a good player and we will have to find someone that can cover him.
I won't say this is a must win game, but it could determine whether or not we have a winning record this season.

1. Control injuries and bring back players
2. Reduce penalties
3. Replace Faggins
4. More productive running game

The main problem I see with the defense is the secondary playing to far off there man. Joey rarely threw the ball down the field but our safeties never came up closer to the line. Even when we blitzed our safties were still back allowing easy dump off to the WR.

Miami does have a good reciever in Chris Chambers and it looks like Ronnie Brown is starting to develop a mean streak. Having said that, we have to be more quit giving recievers 8 yds off the line of scrimmage. And, I agree with a few posts here where we have to win this game. It simply is a must win game before we play Jacksonville and Tennessee. We need some reinforced confidence before we play the Jags.

The Raiders got 299 yards combined on the ground against Miami's defense. Zach Taylor was out of the game and it's unclear whether he will play next week. I guess that is good for the Texans. Maybe Ron Dayne can rumble for over 100 yds.

We need to stop turning the ball over. That would solve a ton of our problems.

I mean, our defense hasn't gotten a turnover. Sorry for not specifying.

That's don't mean nothing. The backup probably just as better then Zach Taylor, and probably do more damage.
For Danye? That big lazy slow man can't even get a yard for a first down, or a touchdown. Please don't talk about that guy!
Danye will be cut after this season.
I've never heard the phrase "just as better", but I'll assume you are trying to say that Zach Taylor's backup is better than he is. I'm going to have to disagree. If he were he would be starting, and the team probably would not have given up quite so many yards.
I agree that Dayne is not a great running back, but our starter is injured and that is who we have to go with. If he gets holes, he can run through them. He reeled off a 15 yd. or so run yesterday when the hole opened up. In those short yardage situations, the Falcons defense was stuffing the line and if your O-Line doesn't get push you aren't going anywhere.

I don't see the texans tearing up any team with ron dayne. He's lack quickness and speed and thats hardly the recipet for a great ground game.

Thats #1.
#2 Establish a running game. I don't care who or how we do it. We need 150 yards on the ground.
#3 Convert on 3rd down. I don't know why we had a problem yesterday. Dayne avg 4 yds per carry but we couldn't buy a half a yard on 3rd down.
#4 Defense needs to stiffen up. Allowing 26 points is not ultra terrible but they need to create some turnovers. If the defense can score a TD, we will win.

I expect to see what kind of character the team shows against Miami.
I have a gut feeling they are embarresed about losing to Atlanta and are going into next week with some serious attitude. And according to CBS AJ may see action next week, so that should help. I will be so dissappointed if they fold again next week.

I watched the AJ interview and it seems like he's barely trying to rebuild strength in his leg and does not want to come back until he is 100%....to be honest I dont blame him. The pics they took showed that the healing process went well and he can now rehab a little "harder" and begin the strength training session of rehab....I just dont know if he'll be ready for sunday.
1. Throw a long pass to Andre Davis on our first play. This team has always been better when passing to open up the run, rather than trying to be manly with the whole "Run-run-run" approach like we saw in the Atlanta game. How long did that last? Exactly as long as it has lasted in previous efforts--Long enough for the coaches, whether it be Dom or Kubiak, to realize that the clock keeps ticking and we keep punting.
2. If anyone needs a one-way ticket out of town, it's Salaam. The guy gets bulldozed, he lets a blitzer come free way too much, and he draws drive-killing penalties at all the wrong times. Need I say more? You guys need to channel more of your anger away from Faggins and more onto Salaam, IMO.
3. Draft or acquire a stud running back who (a) is less likely to get hurt at all, and (b) who can heal more faster when he gets injured. This is the reason I was adamantly against the Ahman Green signing--Dude is AWOL, and I doubt we see him in more than half our games the rest of the season. I hope this is a one-year fix. Kubiak, please tell me you will pursue a younger workhorse RB in the draft or in offseason trades/free agency. PLEASE.
4. Stop Ronnie Brown or we're toast. He is getting his confidence back.

Dolphins game plan
stack 8 in the box
throw at petey
trent green will have 375 yards and 4 TD's
petey will be defended by the coaches again
(sorry, just frusterated)
our weakness has not just been exposed, its been proven over and over to be a sure fire big play, snap, 5 steps, look for faggins, TD
on the plus side, Von Hutchins has been phenominal....especially for a 3rd stringer

We really need to create some turnovers. Unfortunately, no one is throwing at Dunta Robinson, so we don't get potential picks. We just need to rip at the ball or sack the quarterback and force some fumbles.

I think we'll get the mental mistakes straightened out this week. Those are the easy things to correct. Unfortunately I don't think we'll be seeing a solution to our secondary problem any time soon so it will be important for our front 7 to create substantially more pressure than they have in the last two games.
On paper the Dolphins are one dimentional defensively. They're dead last in the league against the run with a 199.2 yrd average. I find it hard to believe that we couldn't move the chains on the ground even if Ahman can't go, but that remains to be seen.
If we are forced to play from behind again, or rely strictly on the pass game, we could be in for a rough day. The Phins are 2nd against the pass and they still have Jason Taylor who is an incredible pass rusher. I don't want to see Schaub put in the same situation he has been for the past couple of weeks.....that is asking way too much for one guy to keep trying to overcome, and he's starting to get banged up. If he is asked to drop back and pass every down we could be in trouble.
We should be able to make them one dimentional offensively also. Even though Brown has had some success the Phins are averaging less than 100 yrds per game on the ground and we still have a top 10 run D, which has been the only bright spot lately. Once again we'll force them to pass. They are ranked 11th right now in that category, but that's somewhat misleading because they're only averaging 7.1 yrds/attmpt (sound familiar?). This week we shouldn't have to worry about too many deep plays. D-Rob is excellent at jumping the short routes so look for him to possibly come away with an INT in this game if the Dolphins are stupid enough to through to his side.
I think we can get to Trent Green early and often. I have to think the coaches are chewing some major *** this week over our poor performance against the Falcons. I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot more pressue this week. Okoye is on a hot streak and Kalu should be back in the lineup. I think Mario is due for another good game.
Having Jacoby back in the return game could be big if he can go. We could use the field position advantage to take some pressure off of our offense. If he plays this week I doubt we'll see him as much at WR since Davis is playing so well.
I like our chances this week. It's the best situation we can ask for a bounce back game, short of having all of our players healthy. I'll be at this one, sitting somewhere in the second level corner endzone (haven't seen what section and seats yet) and I'd love to be able to come back home with a smile on my face. I'm getting pumped already!
LET'S GOOOOO!!!!

I know that, I just didn't feel like writing what everyone has already stated. "Something different," iwoudl have been to activate Darius Walker and give him a chance, but he obviously sees him everyday and we don't. Gado should have played in the game but he stuck with Ronnie. Defensivly, he knows about Petey, that's why he was moved to nickleback during Atlanta. Happy.

I know we can beat Miami. Our defense just needs to start the game with the same intensity it started to show in the 2nd half of the game vs. Atlanta. No team should wait till they are trailing to start turning up the heat. We have alot of talent on the team, and they need to come out from the start and show it (producing some turnovers would be nice). I don't know if there is going to be any chance of truly finding a solution for our secondary. The guys we currently have are just going to have to step up and make plays. Trying to find new players at this point isn't going to help.

The radio analyst for the Miami Dolphins was on 610 am this morning and he said that Vonnie Holliday is out and that Zach Taylor could play this week. He said that Ronnie Brown is playing like the No.2 overall pick that he was. He said that Cam Cameron isn't utilizing Ted Ginn Jr. in the offense and he only has one catch this season. Finally, he said that Trent Green is throwing the ball off his back foot which has resulted in 7 interceptions this year. He has also been sacked 7 times.
I would love to see us force a turnover or two this week.

My Keys to the game are
1. We need an offensive Playmaker,
2. We need to have tighter coverage on the WR. I think booker will match up against petey.
3. Dominate the line of scrimmage on defense, their O line is not that good exploit that.
4. Contain #99 Doesnt get any easier for Ephraim this week.
5. Throw Deep middle routes We know the Capers Defense we know where the holes are its over the linebackers and under the 2 deep zone safeties.

The good thing is that other than Chambers, Miami does not really have a great threat at WR. They will need to shut down Brown though at RB. They also need to get pressure on Green because he seems very gun shy ever since that huge hit he took last year. Get pressure and shut down Brown you shut down the Miami offense.

Back to the question at hand.
Well amazing andre...i just don't know? We've lost 2 games in a row that i thought we should have won. We seem to be okay..but then again we have not been a force on defense. Most of our injuries are on offense. I expected to be 4-0 right now. So my theory of the season is completely out of whack.
------------------------
All i can do is reevaluate the situation...think about what we CAN do with who we have. Try not to play into Miami's hand and let Ronnie bust too loose. This does not mean give ten yard cushions on the WR's. Chambers is an under achiever with a ton of potential to burn you.
--------------------------------------------
Booker..i'm not to worried about. He only catches half the balls thrown to him.
--------------------------------------------
I think what we have to do is quite simple.
---------------------------------------On Defense
First play first down we bring 4 on the rush. Next play 5 next play 6...and keep bringing more guys until we get pressure or peneteration into the backfield.
Once we figure out how many it is going to take..let's say 6..:) that leaves us 5 in coverage. One on the tight end...two on chambers...one on booker...one shadowing Ronnie Brown out of the backfield for those little passes he has gained almost 100 yards recieving in the last two games catching. That is one of our defenses weaknesses. ONE time i saw us defend successfully..a back coming out of the backfield and catching a pass out on the flank. About 20 times i have seen it go for at least 10 yards. That has to change or RB will eat us alive!
------------------------------
Okay so next we have to stop them on 3rd down. No more easy 3rd down conversions! For anybody. The rest of the year. If we have to take a chance on getting burned..then let's get burned and get it over with. We'll get the ball faster and can come back. This never ending drives of our opponents is awful. I remember a year when we could not stop anyone on the last drive of the game. Now it is happening all game long. This defense has to stop them on third down. I don't know how. Kubiak can figure that out.
--------------------------------------
I feel like our offense will have to pass even though Miami's run defense is having problems. Without McKinney..i feel our run game has really been a little off. Plus i think the run plays are too cut and dry. We MUST use plays that have misdirection...even if it is only a fake step by the rb left and then he goes right. We can not expect to have success running off tackle or using what i call goal line run plays. I saw that a lot and was not happy with it.
More fancy play calling!!!! on offense.
------------------------------------------
So who's returning punts now? Oh well....you know i just want a clean victory with a lot of good things to talk about on Monday.

theres been one constant position and thats matt, so you know we'll prolly rack up 300 yds in the air and i say he puts it in the endzone a coupe times this week because of the lack of td execution the last 2 weeks. our running game prolly round 80 yds and a td, i think the O line is gunna step it up from last week (because u cant go down) and if we dont turn it over or at least keep the ratio even we should have a nice big frustration releasing victory......... though the dolphins winless, makes them hungry, they dont have the same feel as the falcons did
im callin petey gets a pic and regains alil confidence(he has been getting picked on), but i also think bennet will play very well....
