I've seen some people getting carried away on this message board. There has been talk of 12 wins and championships and what not. Time to come back to reality. We still need a few more pieces before we can hang with the elite teams. Losing to the Falcons shows us that. For me, an 8-8 record was the target before the season and still is now. Anything above that is gravy. I think we have a solid team and our best team so far, but there is still a ways to go.

whatever you are tellin me when all these guys predicted 12 wins with our team healthy was unreal? i dont think it was....i still think 10 wins is obtainable is we manage these next few weeks....then our starters come back and we are gold again

yes, 12 wins is off the table IMO. The Falcons are one of the worst teams in the NFL, we should have crushed them. None of our starters on defense were injured. Yet still the awful Falcons offense managed to look very respectable at our expense.

I never read anyone that predicted 12 wins, and I'm pretty sure that when some of our best players went down, so too did the expectations. If we get guys back pretty soon and they stay healthy, there is no reason we can't win 9-10 games.

haha i said we would win 13 when all of our starters in.....

Oh, well I guess I was referring to the majority of the predictions.

The way Texans playing no games are favorable to win. They better hope and pray that they beat Miami.

All I give the Texans this year is 8-8.

Who is this guy im really starting to dislike him now, everything that he writes is negative you must be miserable

guess you missed all the YELLOW laundry being tossed at defense 2 phantom pass interference calls, a sack on a 3rd down negated by a phantom holding call (when CBS showed clip of guy tagged for holding..HE WAS BEING HELD by an Atlanta player).

EVERY Freaking time we stop them, the Zebras would call a penalty and keep drive alive OR give them good field position (1st punt we get called for holding while they ignored a blatent block to back from an Atlanta player)...we still had game in reach in 4th quarter, until Geriatric Gerry Austin (who refereed 1st football game in America 1893) STOLE Schaub's TD.

It got so ridculous in the sportsbar was at, Cowbabies fans started taking shots at Refs....you know they brought crew to game in a short yellow bus..You know Georgiadome is just wrong, not letting those guys bring in seeing eye dogs to help. IT IS PRETTY BAD, when fans hate your team feel sympathy

I agree the officiating was poor. But so is the Falcons offense. We had all of our starters on defense, and we still gave up 26 points. Whenever you give up that many points, odds are you will lose.

8-8 is my negative creep prediction.

9-7 is my homer prediction.

I'd take either.

We played poorly for one game, that shouldn't take away from what are team accomplished the first two games. The texans are a good team!

The Texans are a good team. But if we can lose to the Falcons, we can lose to anyone.

We also were so depleted at the skill positions we only had 3 WRS and 2 Rbs dressed.

16 points is not to bad with a bunch spares.

Misterpc had a point about the defense though. Our defense made the Falcon's offense look spectacular. Most of our injuries are on the other side.

The Texans are a good team. But if we can lose to the Falcons, we can lose to anyone. It was just one game. Last week we were 7 points away from beating the champs with an offense desimated with injuries. And this week we made Harrington look like Dan Marino. And 2 weeks ago we scored 31 unanswered points against a good carolina defense. We have bad games just like every other team does. Any team can lose to anyone ; you know the saying "any given sunday". The chiefs went on the road and beat the chargers. The lions beat the bears. And so on and so on.

They had a great game plan, everytime we brought pressure he had an open look in that spot. We couldnt get to harrington fast enough. They played carolina really well till their defense got stuck out there for long drives and wore down.

You continue to use the word "they" in all threads except the Matt Schaub thread, where you said "we"

So which is it? Do you support this team or don't you? If you don't, I for one would much rather you go somewhere else. You contribute nothing to these discussions.

We played and coached poorly all-around yesterday, hopefully it's a one week disease. We couldn't get first downs on 3rd and short, couldn't stop the pass, no TD's in the red zone, etc. It's hard enough to win on the road, but when you play like we did, a loss is what you get. We need to regroup, get healthy and whoop the Fins.
p.s. Go to User CP on the left side of the toolbar, select Buddy/Ignore list, and add haters names. They won't show up anymore.

I still think 10 wins is possible. Every season you win one you should have lost and lose one you should have won.

Number 34 wills away the bad luck with turnovers and 3rd down conversions. Done. We should be fine now. :)

You are a fool. They hang with Indy with a decimated injury bug. The loose to Atlanta(true they lost), but had Green, AJ and JJ ben in the game. Even with bad or sub-par D being played. They would of had enough firepower to beat them easy. But, AJ is still hurt and Green is day to day. And JJ is out probably for 2-3 more weeks.

So, see what happens with AJ and Green back. Afterall, Matt still is posting 100+ QB ratings and a high completion % without AJ. All that happened in Atlanta was due to no WR's(except Davis) and a bad running game(no Green). The D was just on the feild WAY too long.

Before the Schaub trade and even after no one other than a Houston Texan fan would have predicted a Texan win on the road in Atlanta. For a team that has never played .500 football I'm amazed at how in the minds of the Texans fans that this is an elite playoff bound team after only 2 wins in a 16 game schedule. I appreciate the support that you show for your team but at some point one must be realistic.

Keeping in mind the BIG picture of this franchise ... Kubiak and Smith have their hands tied yet and for some time to come.
They still have to work through the endless bad moves, and cap hits by management before them.

They need to get quality starters at many positions yet. And that's going to take time.
Kubiak's been doing a heck of a job with what he's been given.

With all these irrational predictions, this is starting to look like the Titans MB. At least half their posters don't see a L on their remaining schedule. As far as they are concerned, they are going to the Super Bowl.
