What do we want Justin Fargas for? Here's what we do:
Free Agents
Michael Turner
Nick Ferguson
Round 1 - Ryan Clady OT Boise State
Round 3 - Yvenson Bernard RB Oregon State (5'9" 202 4.50)
Round 4 - Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie CB Tennessee State
Round 5 - Wesley Woodyard OLB Kentucky
I also like RB Kalvin McRae from Ohio (5'11" 208 4.55)

If we land Turner - which I think would be awesome- then I doubt we draft a RB. We would have a great twosome in Turner and Green and we still have Taylor. In the first I would take BPA - either LT, S, LB in that order. Then I would hope to pick up a good safety in the third then go BPA the rest of the way.
Samuels would be nice as well but both would cost a ton of $$$$

Justin Fargas? Is that guy really that good?

No. Plain and simple. Career backup since he left USC. I don't want another backup RB pretending to be a starting RB when he comes here. I want an actual starting-caliber RB.

Ryan Clady...great minds think alike. :)
Yvenson Bernard of Oregon State and Kalvin McRae of Ohio are two sleeper picks at RB in the mid rounds. I say we sign a RB in FA AND draft a mid rounder. I'd LOVE Mendenhall or Stewart, but I don't think they'll be available. (Stewart already off the board and Mendenhall going back to school)

Orrrrrrr OLB Lance Briggs. With Chicago not doing so well, and him expressing his desires to leave least season, I would be surprised if he really did leave. OLB isnt a glaring need for us, but he is a major upgrade at OLB next to Demeco. - Brand0n

I'm with you on re-signing Clark and Davis, but Orr and Anderson can take a hike after this season.
OLB should be addressed on Day 1 on the 2008 Draft. I'm not saying it will be, but it should. (Ali Highsmith, for instance)

When did replacing very good OLmen become a top priority?

He had potential 3 or 4 years ago as a rookie and hasn't done much. Now it's time to move on.

he's still just 25, and he's shown flashes already...or at least 1 flash this season. who do you propose we replace him with huh? another guy who's just gonna sit on the bench? its not like the person you replace him with is gonna make a difference either.

You draft a rookie. Not saying that guy's going to come in and start right away. I'm not saying Anderson is garbage, I'm just saying we cut ties with him. He battled Orr for the starting job and had it until Clark came along. Orr should go, no question.

My perfect and not in this lifetime off-season is:
Samuel, Briggs, Turner, and I have heard Fitzgerald wants out of Arizona, so I would take him too.
Draft a LT with our first pick, and Safety with our third.
In a perfect world.

i dont see why we need to use a pick on a SLB when we have much bigger needs. especially since a late round LB pick will need just as much seasoning as anderson had. we need to address LT, FS, RB, and possibly C, so we'd be looking at a 5th or 6th round LB. i just dont see why you cut ties with a guy who has shown potential for another late round crap shoot. and its not like anderson is costing alot of money either.

Ryan Clady - LT (1st Round)
DeJuan Tribble - CB (3rd Round possibly)
Wesley Woodyard - OLB (5th or 6th Round)
Kalvin McRae - RB (5th or 6th Round)
^^^^4 guys that I really would like to see on this team in 2008.
Michael Turner in Free Agency.

As many glaring weaknesses as we were Shown today, Id be ok with going after Turner.
Id love to get Phillips out of Miami, Man that dude is just on the ball. Id like to see boulware play his way on to the field.

We HAVE TO go after Turner hard. Our running game is abismal at best. Clady will go a long way in solidifying the O Line and (I strongly believe) Kasey Studdard will be ready to go next season.

greens contract isn't huge and it was structured as a two year deal. RB will be a huge priority for the texans but I'd rather see the texans get phillips from miami. He would improve the Run defense, and pass defense.

after picking up ahman via fa i doubt we get turner...we will prolly get a rb in like rd 6 and we will cut him and have green. dayne, and gado again!
Don't forget about Taylor next season. Dayne won't be here.

i think we have to go after Clady or Cherilus in the 1st round. Our OLine gets no push and doesnt create holes for our RB's. Clady may be the more athletic pass protector, but Cherilus is a big physical guy who will help in the run game. he's more of a RT who can play LT, but many think he's a better LT than Jake Long (while Long is the better RT prospect). either will help, but at this point, i think Spencer is done, and even if he does come back, he'd have to be at guard because there is no way he can just come back and step in at LT once he's cleared to play
we'll go after Quintin Demps in the 3rd round
Cory Boyd in the 4th, I really like his skills, and he's got good size and is powerful and explosive. good hands out of the backfield which helps in the passing game
Alvin Bowen in the 5th, kinda along the lines of Woodyard in the undersized WLB but with lots of upside.

Im going Clady in the first round now.
Quintin Demps in the 3rd.
Sign Alan Faneca as the guard replacing Weary.
And we could have Clady and McKinney on one side and Faneca and Winston on the other.

Why would you let our starting SS go? He plays solid at SS. I like him there.

Right now were at #14 in draft position and there are few teams who would go after a RB. I think that there's a chance a stud runningback could fall all the way to where we pick.

Yeah, like ray rice. But i wouldn't be all too upset with a stud tackle for the o-line either. If we go with OT in first, pick-up Jacob Hester in the 3rd rnd, been saying this for awhile, so dont be suprised when it happens. Green,Taylor,Hester--NICE!!!
