maybe it's not all the rb's problem, maybe you better look at that o-line

I was ready to say the same thing. Time to bring some youngsters up give them a shot. Weary to center. start Studdard.

I agree about the OL. It really makes no diffence who the RB is. If the OL can't open any holes, all they will ever get is one or two yards a time.

yes the RB situation looks bad, but i today think green looked levels better than dayne and gado have the past few games

For God's sake, pick a better RB to be a fan of!

I believe Gado actually averaged more yards per carry today and had a nice game receiving as well, just give it to him 20 times and I'll be happy. I'll either say he sucks or I told you so but until he gets it 20 times the jury is still out.

OMG!!! Can we give up the Gado train. He hasn't shown anything more than the other backs. Less actually.

uh, we never said green would tear it up, he averaged 2.8 yards a carry, more than gado, however, rushing for 44 yards against a defense that let larry johnson rush for 12 last week...i dunno, give it up gado is talentless, dayne is fat, and green is old

Sorry to break it to you but I don't think gado is back next year. as far as him getting 20 touches, never going to happen with Green here

Green was an NFL quality back a few years ago. Now he is what he is old and injury prone, not his fault, Texans fault for hitching their wagon to this group of RBs. Until Kubiak has a reality check and either gets something else, probably not possible this year, or starts calling pass plays in the Red Zone , it is going to be a LONG!!!!!! frustrating season. Our backs are so slow that even when the OL opens a whole our backs cannot get through it. Kubiak needs to get over his obsession with the running game and JUst win baby. I didn't see NEngland being obsessed with ramming the ball in the red zone.

Well Taylor the change of pace is out for the year... any more bright ideas?

Sadly both the O-line and the Rb's are an issue. I think Green is servicable with decent line play against mediocre teams. However the line play today was horrible and the Jags run D is great. Just as LJ who gained 10 yards last week against their D. The Jags Run D struggled in week 1 vs the titans but has really dominated since. While our run game has steadly gone down hill with the injury to Mckinney.

Well it wasnt what was expected out of ahman as much as what we got out of our line Salaam had to have Bruener assist him more than I would have liked.

I hate to bust everyone's bubble but Gado is going to be here for a while, so you might as well find some way to start liking him or you're going to be upset for a while

Dayne will not be back, salary reasons. Green will be back if he wants to, I agree the Texans will draft a RB next year, but like I said Gado will be here

If anyone expected Ahman Green or any Texans RB to torch that Jacksonville defensive front, they had expectations set too high. Our RB's style plays directly to their strength. They're strong in the middle and we can't run outside. Jacksonville held good RB's to few yards all season, save for week one (the enigma week in the NFL). It's too early to give up on Green....yesterday just wasn't our day to win. We still get them back in Houston...split the season series.

This thread among others proves this whole forum is a bunch of arm-chair quarterbacks that don't really know football...

Or maybe I shouldn't say don't know football, but rather, are a slave to the hype-bs that is fed to you.

What I mean by this is -- Green looked just like Dayne and Gado have the past three weeks.

Gado plays in week 3 for the first time vs the Colts and you guys crucified him. NO - ONE said, he's a little rusty for being out three weeks, like is said here about Ahman...

Gado had not played in a live game since week 13 of last season...but no one gives him the 'might be rusty' defense.

Green is a future hall-of-famer (maybe) and is a quality back. But the line play made him look pretty bad.

Gado is no future hall-of-famer, but I just wish this board would be a little more objective...

Face the facts...It would take a serious top-teir bigtime hall-of-famer the likes of Barry Sanders or Brian Westbrook to make this line look decent.

So I would start questioning the overall coaching now...

We are stuck with these three guys. Everyone agrees we need a better line play to have these three guys succeed...

SO WHY NOT CHANGE something that actually can be changed??

If you noticed, green's best run came on inside trap play...This is Delaware-Wing-T football people...pull a guard..block down, kick out...NO zone scheme...

Our line can do some things decently...We should focus on those things and then the backs would look better...

We are not throwing Streak Routes to Bruener...but I bet if we were, this silly forum would be calling Bruener slow, instead of calling the play-calling Dumb!

Seriously!

I don't think the running backs are the problem, its coaching. If I can sit in my Lazy Boy and predict what plays they are running, I'm sure all pro linebackers can also.
