1) Execute in the Red Zone

2) Limit Costly Mistakes

3) Ahman Green...Where Are You?

If the Texans do these 3 things, they have a good chance of beating the Tennessee Titans next Sunday.

Well you took care of the offensive side of the ball, what about the defensive side coach?

CONTAIN Vince Young

Vince had a bad outing against Tampa earlier today. Let's use that to our advantage by applying a little bit of pressure on him early and often. We have to get him rattled before he has time to 'settle in'.

PASS RUSH anyone?

Mario Williams got blocked one on one by Reggie Williams today...Reggie Williams!! Something's got to give with this guy. That is just unacceptable. No excuses for that. Amobi Okoye needs to settle down and get back into a rhythm. Good things will come if that happens.

It doesn't look promising for the Titans if Vince has to rely on his arm to make plays. He's decent as a passer, but hasn't shown much consistency throwing the football.

It's all good. Just giving you a hard time.

Will JJ be back next week? A nice Special Teams boost never hurts.

...so I haven't been the only one thinking that? Good. I'm tired of seeing Dexter Wynn get dropped at the 25 yard line.

i mean, its already hard enough to win, you gotta get your playmakers as many reps as you can....... and jj, untill proven otherwise, is a play maker

Beating the Titans:

1) Offensive line production: I swear to god, I am going to have a an aneursym if I see Schaub get blind sided off the left-side again as a result of Salaam's sub-standard level of playing. Schaub needs help getting comfortable, he is still young. He isn't going to get comfortable if he knows that there is a 50% chance of him getting wiped out from behind every time he drops back to pass. The o-line also needs to get agressive and push the line forward. Ahman Green, while not stellar, is adequate as long as he has a hole to run through. We really need to wake up and play tougher football.

2) Playcalling: I have given Kubes the benefit of the doubt the last few weeks, but it's time for me to stand up and say something. In goal line situations, with our personell, it is a worthless notion to attempt to run the ball. In this next game, I would like to see more playaction roll outs (preferably to the strong side in an attempt to open up Owen Daniels on an outside slant). The truth of the matter is that we pass better than we run, and we need to get a little more tricky with our play calling. The back up WRs have proven that they're the real deal, and given that we could possibly have A.J. back for the game, I will be hoping for more 4 and 5 WR packages.

3) D-line production: Christ almighty. What happened? The d-line has not been suffering injuries. All they have suffered is a lack of will. The d-line simply needs to get nastier and more agressive. Today, we let Maurice Jones-Drew roll over us as a bowling balls rolls over pins. Someone needs to give our d-line a serious pep talk, because they are better than what they've shown us the last few weeks.

4) General defense: Our defense has been far too conservative, and it shows. We are giving up too many huge plays while playing the zone. I will be expecting more man-to-man coverage, more blitzing from our linebacker core, possibly some new packages, and something that I have been chewing on for a few weeks now: a d-lineman stunt or two. We need to get tougher on defense and start playing more agressively. We can not play cover 2 well at all. We need to come to grips with that and alter our defensive philosophy.

5) Romahn Greenado: It seems that no matter who we put in the back field, we come up short. Someone, ANYONE, needs to step up and help us become a two dimentional offense. Ahman Green is still our best option, but he needs to pick it up.

6) Don't get a headache game planning for Vince Young: He is highly over-rated and mistake prone. If you spend a good amount of time game planning to stop him, the real threats of the team will hurt us. Vince Young, a lot like early Michael Vick, doesn't throw well. This means that he'll be running. If we slip a few QB spy plays into our defense, there should be no reason to be harmed by Vince Young.

Just some key points.
