When we are in the redzone teams always seem to pile all the guys upfront and we seem to always run the ball in the middle. So Lets run a bootleg with shaub and have OD run a route the same way just in case he needs to dump it off. It works and will work 98% of the time untill we can get a better push up front from the old guy and Pitts. I am not saying run it everytime just once in a while. The past 3 games it has been open several times and Kubs just won't call it. Offensive minded coach were are you?

I have been calling for this for a very long time. In those red zone situations, given that we lack the personell to pound it up the middle, we need to do more play action rollouts to the right and perhaps either hit Walter/Davis (whoever is there at the time) on some sort of hook rout or hit Daniels on an outside slant in the corner of the endzone. We pass better than we run, it's time to come to grips with the fact that we are not a hardnosed, smashmouth football team.

I agree. Schaub has run that play beautifully several times this year. Schaub could easily take it in if he had to when we're near the goal line.

he has run it beautifully this year but all at the wrong times. Like when we are on the 50 yard line.

The bootleg zone stretch pass! Ive seen them hit on this play many times. As for running the naked boot in the red zone, isnt that play pretty easy to defend without a running game? The whole key is the run fake.
It's sad that we even have to risk our QB running a sneak, bootleg run or 3 wideouts on the goal line trying to clear the box.

I have been screaming for that play for weeks now. If someone isn't open, then tuck it and run or throw it away.
