I want to see us take an OT in the 1st round. I think it will give Matt even more time to throw and greatly improve the running game. I did just have a thought though. If there are no OT's worth our pick and we take Ray Rice, or another power type back that combination with Chris Taylor will be GOOD next year. Taylor and Rice in our back field. How does that sound?

YES....... I have stated on alot of threads my straight up man love for ray rice....... the guy is a perfect size, with great strength, quick, great 1 cut north south runner, tough, can catch and get yards after, the team part of me says to get the best OT we can, but if we picked rice, i wouldnt go balistic. i also think chris taylor is a bad*****, i cant wait for him to get back next year...... if we could get an OT with about equal value in the 2nd round and rice is available then yes take rice.......

He's only the best RB in the nation.

I'm impressed with Ray Rice as well. I always new he was big strong dude, but he really showed me some quickness tonight. I'm of your thinking of going with a LT in the first.
As of now, I'm still not convinced Rice is a 1st round pick. i think McFadden and Stewart are locks...then I like Rice and Savage. I used to be high on Slaton but I don't think he'd be a good pick for us b/c of Green and Taylor..I'd like to see a bigger RB than slaton.
The combination of Green, Taylor, and Rice would be sweet.
Steve Slaton, Mike Hart, Ray Rice, Allen Patrick, Tashard Choice, Dontrell Savage, Corey Boyd= one of these guys or 2 may go late 1st round but in general i see these as 2nd or 3rd round guys. Quite a few RB's that I wouldn't mind having on our team. If we can get a really solid LT in the first and then one of these guys in the 2nd...we'd have a pretty stout offense.

If Ray Rice is sitting there gift wrapped in the 1st Round when the Texans come on the clock and Rick Smith 'takes a raincheck' on Rice, my foot is having a meeting with my TV. :)

we dont have a sencond so if we pass on a god rb and they arent there in the third im gonna be pissed!
We can always trade our 1st for a few later picks, to include a 2nd if the player we want isn't there in the 1st.

I certainly agree that we need a quality left offensive tackle. That has been a short coming since the Texans came into existence. However, the also need a #2 wide receiver and a running back. I will settle for the best player available in the draft as long as it is either an left offensive tackle, a wide receiver, or a running back. It is time to start paying some attention to the offense in the player draft.

If the player we want is not there when we pick in the 1st Round, we have the option of trading our 1st Rounder away for a package of lower round picks, one of them being a 2nd Rounder.

Without an offensive line it wont matter who we have running back.
Ray Rice would be nice but Ryan Clady would be better for the team.

That's the very first thing I said in my post. I want us to take an OT in the first. But what if we're able to trade down to 2 get multiple picks. We can get a good LT in the 2nd round. Lord know why we didn't take Gaither in the supplemental draft. But I think that Ray Rice or Mike Hart(I see Hart as similar to Rice) will be available in the 2nd. Let's say we give ATL our 1st for their 2 2nds. It's possible. I just think a good power back, either Rice, Hart or someone like them, couple with Chris Taylor would make a great backfield.

Gaithor may not fit our offense.
We will take the BPA at our position, or trade down if someone offers us incentives.
I think Ray rice goes before we pick or atleast i hope we arent picking that high but time will tell.

hmm...trading our 1st for atlanta's 2 2nds is intriguing...
tony hills and chris williams would probably be the best available OT's in the 2nd.
if ray rice is there in the 2nd, we should probably take him as well. if not, id go for the best available OLB.
2- Ray Rice RB
2- Tony Hills/Chris Williams OT
3- Quintin Demps FS
if ray rice is not available...
2- Tony Hills/Chris Williams OT
2- Tavares Gooden/Phillip Wheeler OLB
3- Quintin Demps FS
4- Cory Boyd RB

I would love to have Ray Rice. He would be our Maurice Jones-Drew. He is tough, and built like a brickhouse. And can run it 30 times. He may be there in the first round when we pick.. As usual, it will be close.
