1- Ryan Clady OT Boise St.
3- Cory Boyd RB South Carolina
4- Charles Godfrey DB Iowa
5- Paul Hubbard WR Wisconsin
6- Alvin Bowen OLB Iowa St.
7- Titus Brown DE Miss. St.
1- With Spencer gone for 2 years now, we have to move on. Our line has not been consistent in the run game and the LT spot has been the cause for nearly all of Schaub's sacks.
3- Cory Boyd is a good all around RB. He can run with power and he can catch the ball. He would be a good backup to Ahman in his rookie year and would be a good complimentary power back to either Chris Taylor or a speedy RB that we can take in the 1st round in 2009.
4- Charles Godfrey is an athletic freak. 6'1 210lbs with 4.4 speed. Good ballskills and ability to defend the run. The sleeper of the draft IMO. A CB in college, he has all the skills to play FS in the NFL. 4 INT's so far this year.
5- Even though we seem to have a plethora of WR's these days, we only have 2 real redzone threats in Andre Johnson and Owen Daniels. Jacoby Jones' inconsistent/small hands make him a liability in the redzone, Andre Davis is a good deep threat but not a redzone option, and Kevin Walter hasnt been used in redzone situations all year. Hubbard is a big guy at 6'4 215lbs and would be a higher pick if he weren't injured.
6- Alvin Bowen is a slightly undersized LB at 225 lbs give or take, but has an excellent frame at 6'3. We don't need immediate OLB help, but he's got upside and he could be a player in a few years once he bulks up. 155 tackles in 2006.
7- Titus Brown is a 6'3 250lbs DE/OLB type. We need speed rushers and this guy has been productive this year. Most likely he'll be gone in the 6th, I just didnt know who to put in the 7th round.

I would say screw clady and draft kenny phillips... but i have finally realized how over rated he is... people are comparing him to taylor and reed WTF man. i would agree with clady, i've seen him play and my god he is impressive.

I haven't seen Clady play, but I would love to have a huge OT protecting Schaub's blindside for years to come. If Spencer comes back, he can move over to RT.

Thank You
No prob...but for future reference...I went to google.com and typed in "Ryan Clady Boise St" it was the first thing that popped up and i didnt even have to click on a link.
I havn't seen Clady play either (have but havn't watched him) but I'm in the LT bandwagon. From all I've heard..he would be a good fit for our scheme. I want an elite LT to be here for 10+ years and get our OL and DL to be one of the best in the league. Then we'll have a good team for a LONG time.
We would prob. get more immediate impact if we get a RB or so...but since we've never had a winning season and this latest loss is disheartening....I'm willing to take some more time building..build our OL and be good for a long time instead of going for 1 winning season and trying to get by year to year.
I want our team to consistently go to the playoffs and advance in them....I don't want to wait for a year here or a year there.
EDIT: And I want Schaub to lead us there....therefore he needs to be on this team and un-injured....therefore we have to have a new left tackle....Spencer is a huge ? to play at that spot after 2 years off....therefore I'm hoping LT is BPA in the '08 draft and its a guy that will be our franchise LT once and for all!

It's early, but as of now I think this correlates with what we need
Round 1 - Ray Rice, RB, Rutgers
Round 3 - Tony Hills, OT, Texas
Round 4 - Quentin Demps, FS, UTEP
Round 5 - Wesley Woodyard, OLB, Kentucky
Round 6 - OL
Round 7 - OL

that would be VERY optimistic for both hills and demps to fall.

also, with the way weve been playing, jonathan stewart would be better value at the spot we're picking. rice is more of a late 1st-mid 2nd guy. no doubt the kid is talented and has a lot of heart, but most every site doesnt have him as a high 1st round pick.

I'm still thinking we're going to be picking around #20. But you're right...with the way we're playing now it will probably be higher. (lets hope they turn it around) I think I'd take Stewart over Rice too.
