this guy could be interesting for us...with the number of quality DE's the bears have there is little reason for them to keep and are looking to trade him away...here are his stats since being in the league:
# 96 Alex Brownhttp://images.nfl.com/images/helmets/134x121/CHI.gif (http://www.nfl.com/teams/news/CHI)http://images.nfl.com/images/players/60x80/301991.jpgPosition: DE

as you can see he's not a franchise sack artist but he's definetly better than anyone we have to put opposite mario williams...i think you add him to the mix on our d-line and we have a pretty impressive group of defensive guys...he's definetly a hard worker and take this for consideration...alex brown instead of doing the usual hold out and making a fuss about it in the press is fully participating in team activities even though he knows his days in chicago are numbered...he's been as positive as a guy can be in this business and has shown his willingness to put the team first...i believe given the fact that chicago doesn't have the quality depth that we do at runningback maybe we could make a deal for him for wali lundy or samkon gado
what is everyone else's thoughts?

What do we have to give up?

We already have Weaver and his large contract, so I don't see it getting done. Brown certainly seems to be a consistently good but not great player, being in the range of 50 tackles and 6 sacks. Interesting that he had 2 INTs last year (not saying it means much, just more than you'd expect from a DL). But I think that Weaver's here to stay for this year at least because of the cap ramifications of getting rid of him. And I doubt that any of our RBs could be equal to Brown's trade value. Although if we could get him for Lundy or Gado, I'd make the deal and call No Backsies in a heartbeat.

I don't see where the Bears have any needs we could fill.

well since tank johnson is going to be suspended for 8 games maybe we offer travis johnson in return...there you would have huge contract for big contract...probably would save us money somewhere

Well, what if we were to give up Jerome Mathis (as a reciever) and Wali Lundy?

Hahahahaha... good one.
you were kidding, right?
They already have the best returner in the league and two perfectly fine RBs... And if Mathis has value as a WR, then we need to keep him.... so you were kidding right?
