There , i said it. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the show! 12 wins is still attainable people. Enough with the doom and gloom. This team has been in every game this year. There is NO reason we can't win every game from here on out.
Even the mighty colts barely beat us. Isn't that enough proof?
29 points in one quarter..with back ups...isn't that enough proof?
This season is NOT LOST! Sorry for the rant..i was just tired of seeing all the nay sayers threads and decided to start one for the 10,000 fans who were still at the game last week and all the fans who kept it on tv to the end!
This is the best team we have ever had and the best chance to get to the playoffs so far. I am very happy with our team so far this year. They have played so hard to win that the few losses we have are not an issue for me.
I think a lot of others also feel this way but to read the message board lately it hasn't sounded like it. So , yes, a dumb pointless thread, but i felt it needed to be up in print! I still believe in our team! 100%!
The Texans ROCK!

It's not over yet. I'm with you there, but we have some serious issues to deal with.
It's only Kubiak's second season and Shaub's 10th start. Mario is in his second year and Amobi looks very good. Demeco is doing his usual thing *leading the league in solo tackles* and we finally have a good QB.
If we can JUST stop turning the ball over I would really feel confident. With Petey and Salaam getting roasted weekly, we just can't afford to turn it over anymore.

I'm pretty sure the Jacksonville game got away from us pretty fast. and the Titans dominated us for 3 quarters. We lost to the FALCONS. We won't go 12-4, but we can very wel have a 500 or better season.

We really weren't in the Jacksonville game, but dang it...I like your style.
We'll finish with those ten wins afterall. Screw the critics.

We were in the Jag game until the 4th. When MJD took over.
Too many missed tackles in that one for me though.
I think we have learned our lessons.
Turnovers=bad
Throwing the ball = good
and also
ball on the one yard line;;;;
Quarterback sneak= good
Dayne end sweep=bad
:D
Well said. Could not agee more. About time for a positive post.

I hope that you guys are right, but with our o-line and RBs I just can't see much of an offensive threat.
Home: Saints, Bucs, Broncos, Jags
Away: Chargers, Raiders, Browns, Titans, Colts :eek:
We have some pretty good competition coming up. And even the less competitive teams (Browns & Raiders) are on the road...

Get a grip! With our O-line there's no way. The teams we beat aren't all THAT, and now that people have scouted us and know our capabilities, look out! We're just way out manned on the line, and we still can't get a solid pass rush when we've got to have it. O-line is too physically weak and slow. Bad combination! And then, Kubes play calling is so predictable it handicaps the O-line even further! : ( Not being negative, but facts are facts.

See I completely agree. Everyone is so negative on this board. This is the best season we have had so far. Sure we should have done better in some games, but the progress I have seen as a whole has greatly improved. Playoffs this year? I don't know. That's why they play the games, but I am not going to go on a rampage saying we suck, fire so and so, and (jesus christ) trade AJ. No matter what happens the week before I am still optimistic about the coming week!

As for this being our best season so far, we were 4-3 at this point in 2004 and we finished 7-9. I'm not getting my hopes up until these guys start scoring in the red zone and rushing for at least 80 yards a game. Geez.

Good thread.....it's about time we have more of these. Staying optimistic isn't the same thing as being a homer.
I don't think anyone here is kidding themselves about the performance of this team so far. We jumped out of the gate hotter than anyone expected so we all got pretty excited. In that excitement I think some people lost perspective on exactly where this team is in the building process.
There are just as many positive things about this team as there are negatives. At times they've played like the teams we're used to seeing here, but other times they've done things we've never seen here. It takes time to learn how to win in the NFL and we have some very young players. Give them time.....as hard as that may be for some.

what in the world is in this guys kool aid to create this post. the last 4 games for the texans have been terrible football, and by the way they were not in the titan game for about 50 minutes of that game the texans were whipped on both sides of the ball yea some crazy things happend in the 4th quarter but lets face reality they were dominated in that game and have looked bad in the last 4 games
One thing I think, that havent seen anyone post, just having AJ back will open up the running game. He is a very good blocker, and the safties cant crowd the box because he will burn'em. while we may not go undefeated, once he gets back, I would bet on a sustained winning streak.

I'm still holding out hope that the Texans will pull a Pburg 2005 and go on a 6 game run in the 2nd half of the season. That's predicated on the fact that I-58 and I-74 are no longer starting on the Oline.

I understand how you guys felt. Its been hard watching the whole game b/c I hate to see them lose. Especially after the come back they made in 3rd quarter! I think they need to give the Offensive Coord. some help b/c he waited too long to make adjustments. We have a great squad and having a winning season is still possible. The running game is not working at all for them, but the passing game is pretty good. And without Andre Johnson! Davis and Walter are doing great. We need to just keep hanging in there and supporting them. Because believe or not, other teams are starting to respect us...watch the games and see how they are having to break a real sweat not to lose to us. ;)

We have already played the two easiest games on our schedule: we lost to the Falcons and barely squeaked by the Dolphins. The Texans can/should play better football, and its good to stay optimistic but Yosarian, your prediction is not based on reality (as Im sure you know). Dont mean to rain on the parade, its just disheartening for a lot of people to expect fantastic things from this team and end up getting lukewarm results. I think thats part of the reason for all the stupid threads being posted, people had deluded themselves into thinking we were a 14-2 team when really we're more in the 8-8 range.

8-8 with no injuries???I do not think so.I had no idea Mckinney was so good.

OK lets try to be realistic about this. This is a tough schedule the Texans are facing the rest of the way.
@Chargers
Loss unless we can stop the run and protect the QB against that monster line.
@Raiders
I say win but it could easily be the other way. This should be a close one against a stout defense.
BYE
Saints
Should win since it's after the bye and the Saints are still having problems. Cross your fingers since our pass defense might make Brees look like he did last year.
@Browns
This will be a hard fought game. Look for our defense to do just enough to get the W here.
@Titans
The Titans D will not make the mistake of quitting in the 4th quarter here. The Titans sweep this year.
Bucs
Although the Bucs have been up and down I think we take this one.
Broncos
Broncos can't stop the run so far, but we can't run so its a toss up. The Broncos D has been the reason for their wins so far. I think Kubiak finds the holes and puts up enough points to win this one.
@Colts
Unless Colts are resting starters look for the Colts to keep rollin.
Jags
We usually play well against the Jags and should correct our mistakes. It might be time for the Jags to sweep this year but I'll go with the W for the Texans and a split in the series.
This is a very optimistic look at the remaining games giving us our best record at 9-7. A loss of morale or anymore injuries and this could very well be 5-11 or 6-10.

I never missed a Texan game. I've never seen this so call roll over the punkins here keep talking referring to. Yes, I've seen times that different parts of the game seened like they didn't show up. This includes the offense, defense and special teams. But I've seen this with other teams all my life. The Texans have always team-wise have played hard. Yeah, we have losing seasons... but I've never seen the Texans lay down. So quit this year's team hype about not laying down. We have never laid down.

According to my watch we were winning that game with less than a minute to go...therefore yes we were in that game!!!! Big time! I said we were in every game. Winning with less than a minute left is "in a game" no matter how badly we p[layed up to getting to that point. The bottom line is we could be undefeated right now if we had kept a hold of the ball better and had a few calls gone our way.
We have been so close this year. Don't give up hope. This team has proven they CAN put up big time points on anyone. We can win and we are learning every game..getting better....healthier....and i say we beat the crap outta the chargers!

Yes i know...BUT..you can not tell me today that it is impossible for us to go undefeated the rest of the year, because it is not only possible...but ..okay well it is possible! Yes it is. Of course it is hard to win in the nfl. That's what makes it such a great sport. I feel a change of the tide. Surf's up!

Here's how I see the game. 10 pt. underdogs, with a bang-up QB. Let Schaub sit and get back to 100%... Sage is healthy, and will give it 100%. Then Schaub can get back in and will have a better shot at winning. We need the Bye-week in the worst way. Don't take the chance of injury with Schaub, heck he's lucky to be walking without a limp... let him get his legs back.

Bull!
I saw no prevent. Your team was held to 3 points in the fourth and we scored 2 times. We lost because of our 2 turnovers. That was the difference ..not a prevent defense. Do you think the offense was also in a let's let them back in the game mode? We were only 6 points behind and some bad clock management and no time outs finished us off.
We were in that game!
I don't know what a KRTD is.
