Ok..... 9 games left in the regular season. The Texans could honestly win every one of these games, but we know realistically we won't. At the time of this post:
Chargers 3-3
Raiders 2-4
Saints 2-4
Browns 3-3
Titans 4-2
Bucs 4-3
Broncos 3-3
Colts 6-0
Jags 4-2
Which of these games do you think the Texans will win, and which do you think they will lose?

I say we win them all, why not right? Realistic? Ok we lose to the titans again, colts, and Broncos. I think we take the rest.

Chargers 3-3 - Loss
Raiders 2-4 - Win
Saints 2-4 - Win
Browns 3-3 - Win
Titans 4-2 - Win
Bucs 4-3 - Win/Loss
Broncos 3-3 - Win/Loss
Colts 6-0 - Loss
Jags 4-2 - Win
The Browns are stronger than I thought they'd be, but lack defense.
The Chargers are weaker than I thought they'd be, but are bouncing back.
The Bucs are stronger than I thought they'd be, but are winnable, as are the Broncos, who are weaker than I thought they'd be.

I don't know which games but I say we only win 2 or 3 of the last 9. If the Texans find their running game, get Andre back, and find their pass rush then the Texans can win 5 of 9.

Being a realist, unless things really change or come together, I can not see us winning any of these games. The Raiders and Browns are better than they look, and the Saints may have turned the corner and become "who we thought they were."
We had all we could handle, and then some, from the very very bad Miami Dolphins, a beatdown from the pitiful Atlanta Falcons, and got our butts handed to us by both the Jags and the Titans. Sure we had that comeback, but we still lost and played terrible for three quarters. Everyone seems to ignore that. I do not want to see the Texans who were on the field last week. I want to see the team that dominated the Chiefs and put together a ten minute drive.
Things have to change for us to win, but I do not really see it. The run game either needs to be abandoned or relegated to short yardage situations.
This team could turn a corner, but lots of things have to come together. Our D-line needs to seriously get its act together. The only one out there that is not dogging it half the time is Travis Johnson. He is an animal.
This team has let the fans down way too many times to put on the rose colored glasses. People are high right now because of the comeback, but that is absurd. We would not have to comeback if we could take care of business early in the game. Texans fans are becoming like Cardinals fans: willing to cheer whatever crap the management puts on the field and attacking anyone who points out that the Emperor is naked.
On the outside, we might win one or two of these games, but I am not counting on anymore wins. The best we can hope for right now it is that the Chargers lay an egg tomorrow.

I would analyze the remainder of the season as follows, beginning with the fact that we are a team that has not competed well over the past month.
Colts - among the league's elite. Although we could win in Indianapolis, there is no reason to believe that it is probable. Loss.
Chargers & Saints - these are among last year's good teams that are now on an upswing. We possibly split with these two, but only because we play the Saints in Houston. Chargers - Loss, Saints - Win.
Titans, Bucs, Jags - these teams are generally competitive around the league. The Jags blew us out, the Titans blew us out for three quarters and the Bucs are good. I would only feel comfortable predicting one win out of these three. Titans - Loss, Bucs - Win, Jags - Loss.
Raiders, Browns - these are two teams that are on our level, but both are road games. We should split this series on the road. Raiders - Loss, Browns - Win.
Broncos - I will give us this win at home on a televised Thursday night game.
Given that we are 4-3 after game 7, I see the season playing out as follows:
Game 8 - Chargers (L): 4-4
Game 9 - Raiders (L): 4-5
Game 10 - Saints (W): 5-5
Game 11 - Browns (W): 6-5
Game 12 - Titans (L): 6-6
Game 13 - Bucs (W): 7-6
Game 14 - Broncos (W): 8-6
..... notice that I have predicted 4 wins out of 5 games over the last 5 weeks, which is an improbable run, and at this point we will all be hoping for a wild card berth
Game 15 - Colts (L): 8-7
Game 16 - Jags (L): 8-8
..... but I think that we will fall a little short.
I see us ending up 8-8 at best or maybe 7-9. That Falcons loss will prove costly.

With David Garrard being out a month I dont know what the Jags will do, maybe we will finally run it as much as we should

The Browns game could go either way. With that said, we can't stop the pass (or the run for that matter) and Derek Anderson is on fire. The Bucs game could also go our way, but it would have to be a pretty large off day for them. They are a good, consistent team.
Sorry guys, but I would say that at best we are looking at 8-8

If we don't stop turning the ball over, we won't win any of these games.
If we can just get Andre back then teams will have to gamble if they want to load the box to stuff our run. This is crucial to our success too.

Let's stop talking about Andre for the year. I really do believe Andre is out for the season. But, if he do come back he won't be the same.
I'll say around playoffs he should make it back. But, the Texans not going to the playoffs.

So the general consensus here is that we will lose to the COLTS again (amoung others...) But, I beg to differ!
We're playing the Colts on week 14, which means that by then, they have already clinched the Division. Also, given that the Patriots will have home field advantage with their undefeated record, the Colts really have no reason to play their starters against us. So, I say we have a really good shot at winning this game. :)

I am interested to see what will happen after we post a W against the Chargers today. Will all those L's turn into W's. I say we go 9-7 maybe if the ball falls our way 10-6. We could easily of been 5-2 if we had gotten one play here and there. We need to stand by these guys..
Yes, I know the OL needs to step up. Here's to hoping we go out and get some help this off season.
I had hoped that we would have a better record than last year with the new QB and all. But it looks like we may have another 6/10 season. Pretty much the same team as last year. Turnovers, fumbles and interceptions.

Even if we did win today, I would still say that we are not going to have a winning record. We are just not good.
Our coachs deserve alot of the blame. The most important part of football is preperation. Our guys never look prepared. It is as if we never watch any film. We put our worst players on their superstars and then wonder why we give up the big play.
Today, we all know that the Chargers will try to run it. Will we be ready to stop it? Hell no, we will be in the nickel all day long. Then Kubes will get on the radio and say "Todays loss falls on me, I just did not have the team ready today." He says that every week.
Casserly did so much damage to this franchise that it can not be undone this fast. I thought we would have a .500 season, but the damage is just too deep.
All I really want is better play. If you are going to lose, at least look competent. We do not. We get unneccesary penalties and turn the ball over too much.

As true as this is, it's sad that we have to hope for backups to be playing in order to get a win.

Let's just take it one game at a time. Last year we were 2-6 after 8 games. This year we are 3-5 after 8 games. That is some kind of improvement. Hopefully we can beat a beatable Oakland Raider team. 4-5 is pretty decent going into the bye to get healthy.

I think you can break down the rest of the season into games that are winnable and ones that are pretty close to a lock that we'll lose.
I think we can beat both the Raiders and the Browns, but both teams have been playing decent football of late, and I would categorize them as toss-ups. Both are on the road, so that poses a challenge as well.
I think we probably get drilled by the Saints who seem to have hit their stride. The Titans game is a likely loss. The Tacks have looked pretty average, but have found ways to win. This one is on the road, and they should have some folks back healthy. I'd give the edge to the Bucs as well. They are playing good ball with Garcia and seem to have come out of no-where. This is one where I think we can surprise them, but they'd have to be considered the favorite.
The Broncos at home on a primetime Thursday night is an intriguing game. They are a flawed team, but I think we're more flawed right now. I'd give us a slight edge in this one though, because they have to travel on a short week and Kubes will have a severe Jones on to beat his former team.
Colts at the RCA Dome. If the Colts have anything to play for, that is a severe mashing. If they don't we stand a fairly decent chance against their back-ups. Too early to call, but I wouldn't bet the farm on a Texans win.
Jaguars at home. We traditionally give them hell, but it seems they are playing well and probably will have some playoff aspirations on the line in that game. I'd say the edge goes to Jax in this one.
I'm calling 6 total wins for the season. We win one of the toss-ups at Cleveland and Oakland. Get one from the Broncos on Thursday night. And finally steal one that we probably shouldn't. If I had to predict up or down, I'd probably predict down to 5 or 4 wins for this team.
All of our flaws have really come to the forefront. Poor play on the O-line. No running game. A shell-shocked starting QB. No pass rush. And a swiss cheese secondary. Injuries have certainly played a part in the exposure, but we're showing signs of being a flat out bad football team again.
