When the punter can't jump on a ball in the endzone and allows a TD, it pretty much says it all. I'm watching that play screaming at Turk to JUMP ON THE BALL!!!! And he trips up like he's got two left legs. I was like WTF was that?!?!?!!?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAARGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When every aspect of team play is bad, it all goes to the HEAD COACH, fire Kubiak now, save us all. Sage is in, no TD yet, but no Int either. 35 - 3, so let's change QB's, at the end of last year, I said let Sage, Carr, and Van Pelt play for the starter position, instaed Kubiak goes with a back up that can't handle the heat that comes from playing behind, what is still a bottom 5
O-line.

I am sick of the retarded play by this team. Absolutely no leadership.

All Turk had to do was kick it out of the back of the endzone. What a dumb decision.

Sage came in with 2 minutes, if you honestly think this team would be better with Carr... you know forget it, its been argued to death. The fact that you are even considering Van Pelt shows how out of touch with reality you are.

Nothing more to add.

I have a lot of crow to eat. Schaub is not panning out that well. I am really disappointed with his play as of late. He actually looks a lot like Carr did, except Schaub seems to leave the game more often. I am really disappointed in him, I hope he finds his mojo again sometime soon.

Echemandu hasn't looked bad, better than Dayne at the very least.

The secondary is atrocious.

The whole team has looked atrocious today.

In the october 15th issue of Sports Illustrated, there was a very small article on page 25 about Bryan Pittman:

"...the Texans' Bryan Pittman might bring glamour to the position [of long snapper]: He's a master of his craft - he has never made a bad snap in five NFL seasons..."

THANK YOU SPORTS ILLUSTRATED, FOR BRINGING THAT TO LIGHT

The ball changed direction, and so he tripped and felt away from the ball. it's not like he decided to fall next to the ball for the hell of it!

"what a dumb decision",<-- you made it sound like Turk wanted to not get to the **** ball.

Geezz...

I literally put my face in my hands when he did that......Pathetic. Turk is a strong punter, but that play was pathetic.

How's our cap situation next year?

According to the San Diego site, this is the reason for Turk's whiff in the endzone:

http://www.signonsandiego.com/sports/chargers/20071029-9999-1s29chside2.html

Scoring his first NFL touchdown was not on Antonio Cromartie's mind in the second quarter yesterday as the Chargers cornerback ran toward the ball laying in the Houston end zone.

“Truthfully, I slowed down a little,” said Cromartie, who was well behind Texans punter Matt Turk in pursuit of Bryan Pittman's wild snap.

“The punter was going to beat me to the ball, and I just thought he was going to kick it out of the end zone for a safety.”

Then the second-year Chargers cornerback looked into Turk's eyes – which would have been impossible had Turk's eyes been on the football, where they were supposed to be.

“Exactly,” Cromartie said. “He looked back to see where (the Chargers) were. I think maybe he was thinking about picking up the ball. . . . I don't know. But when he looked at me, that's when he stumbled and fell.

“When I fell on that ball, it was better than a birthday present. More like that first Christmas present you open.”

Moments later, when asked to prioritize his first NFL touchdown, Cromartie admitted it was both “the easiest” and “the most unusual” touchdown he had ever scored.

So, Turk looked back at the oncoming defender instead of at the ball.

What was worse than that whole play was when after it happened, it showed Pittman and Turk on the sideline laughing.
That was a disgrace. Pure disgrace.
They should have had the special teams coach or Kubiak in their face giving it to them.
Pissed me off.

Thats how Carr would react. Look what happend to him.

Granted, It was the funniest example of how not to fall on the ball yet.

It was ugly!!!
