You do not have the injury excuses the offense has.

You cannot keep us in a game and our QB's are getting killed out there trying to get us back in the game.

Time to dump your a** and get a coordinator in here who can produce something out of our first round picks. And I would start with Mario. He has been a huge disappointment.

The draft choices are pathetic on the D-Line

I wouldn't call Amobi pathetic - he's a rookie. Mario should be showing something by now. TJ is playing better, but not a dominating-first-round better.

I can't say Okoye was a bad pick. 4 sacks is not bad for a rookie DT. Now as for Mario, I am TRYING BADLY to say to myself that he will one year explode into the player we want him to be, but he just doesn't seem to be in the game other than for the money he is getting paid.

Richard Smith is taking alot of pressure in which he deserves because he is the DC. But lets look at this realisticly no matter what he calls we don't have the players to make the plays. Take this game as example, the first touchdown to Gates do you think it was a bad call or a blown assignment. I don't care if he calls a blitz, zone, or man coverage we don't have players to make the play. Do we have some yes we do more than last year, but we are still weak. Maybe this off season we can bring in more players to fill this hole. As far as Boulware and Demps I think you will hear more about them next year, maybe if they smart the next game.

Im actually on board with getting rid of Smith. Dont much care for his playcalling, and what the heck was with the defensive scheme that left Gates wide open on his first TD? We have good talent on our front 7, better than most teams in the NFL. The defense should be doing better.

I agree with this. As a former DC for the School that I teach at, you can make calls that are good or bad based solely on if the players make the plays that you expect them to make. Should he call more blitzes? If he did and our secondary still got burned, what would all of you be saying then? "Geez, this guy sucks! He should be rushing four and dropping more into coverage!!"

When you talk them into a new DC see about getting a new OC also, Sherman sucks.Hope he gets a head coaching job so he's out of Houston. All he's good for is bringing in broken down Green Bay players.

Why is it that when we blitz that the person blitzing runs right in to a blocker. I might be wrong but when you bring more than they can to block should n't someone be free I mean come on get a heart guys even on returns they have been running right at people I am just so lost right now. I say fire the trainer because at lease one or two people get hurt a week and are suppose to be out a week or two and turns in to 5 weeks look at the new RB he comes in and a few runs later he hurts his hammie. I know injuries are apart of the game and if it was just this year than I would understand but this is every year, year in and year out if you can not stay healthy get rid of them maybe they can catch a ride with the trainer. And yes noone job is not safe. I can't take this much longer and no I am not ever leaving my Texans but watching the Texans and Astros play like this year after year is getting old please lord help us Houston fans.

Well I don't exactly how accurate this post is. our defense did not play horrible guys. They only gave up 21 points the whole game and on 7 of those the Chargers got the ball on the 49 yard line and scored a touchdown. The Chargers are the number 8 ranked PPG team in the NFL averaging almost 25 PPG and our defense gave up 21 points. You can give credit for this blow out to the offense and the ridicolous turnovers and stupidity that they played with. We had 5 turnovers on offense do you really think that you can win when you have 5 turnovers. Give me a break this offense is playing pathetic since AJ went down. Hopefully Echemandu can bring in a new dimension where we can actually rush for some yards because that's been our biggest problem. We gave up 1 sack all game and I am sure many pressures but the Chargers are a very good team who are starting to roll into playoff form that everyone thought they would be. Without a running game this team is screwed. We have to get a back this year out of the draft and at least a LT if possible. Sure the defense is horrible but the thing that is killing us is turnovers. I mean we have had like 12 turnovers in 2 weeks. How awesome is that. LOL. And I just seen a stat we have more takeaways than New England, San Diego, Baltimore, and Tennessee and we have the most giveaways than anyone else by 3. We have 18 giveaways. That's why we keep losing not defense.

The thing is, I don't think our defensive coaches are teaching our players what to do, I think they're telling them what they want them to do but now how to do it or why they're doing it. When I played in Jr. High, our coaches told us Why we did certain things on certain plays, they also expected us to know what everyone else was doing and why so that we did our job we would know: Hey the QB was hit as he threw if our safety was where he was supposed to be he should be able to knock it down or pick it off and sure enough, we kicked ***, High school was a different story though. My point is, you can tell a safety just cover the top, but if you don't tell them "don't get sucked in by the play action, we have 5 guys down there dedicated to stopping the run, just keep us from looking stupid and stay over the middle, they like to throw to their star TE" well you see what happens.

I agree with you that the defense did not lose this game - it was a total effort on everybody's part. But I am sick of the defense getting so little pressure and getting burned on big plays. At least they could have kept us in the game, but 21 points on top of the boneheaded mistakes by special teams and offense was just too much.

The defense doesn't have the excuse of injuries - they have been playing as a unit since training camp and they look below average. All those first round picks and no playmakers - PATHETIC.
