View Full Version : Well...
I just dont have the energy to go at it with the screamers in here. I have escalated past contempt into the realm of violence. Logic and debate just wont do it for me anymore.. nothing short of watching them bleed will satisfy me...so ill just have to ignore them.
About the game:
1) Schaub is looking shell shocked. It looks like we have discovered the weakness of our great new QB....he cant take too much punishment. I still think Schaub is the answer to our QB issues.. but this just further emphasizes our need to focus 90% of our energy on improving the Oline next offseason.
2) Eche looks like DD v2.0. I like what he showed us..his cut back ability is impressive and he has a nice burst. I havent seen enough of him yet, but he might be a star behind a better Oline.
3) We gotta fix our pass rush. We need to spend some money on a Dlineman, or two, this offseason. Its time for Kubiak and McNair to quit looking at the salary numbers and just look for productivity. If we can get a better pass rush from someone other than mario or johnson or okoye..then lets do it. Our young guys can be 2nd string and come in when the starters need a rest. Maybe some time on the bench watching will allow them to grow a bit more.
4) We need better blockers on special teams. We have the return men..but we dont have the blocking to give them a little space.
This loss can be attributed to mistakes. The Chargers are too good of a team for us to be throwing interceptions and bumbling snaps.

I strongly disagree with your third point. Something needs to be done, but we've wasted far too much money on our defensive line... the philosophy you're proposing has been the FO's philosophy for the past 4 years. There are enough other things this team needs to concentrate on.
I'm not saying our pass rush is fine - because its not - but there's more potential there than in, say, our offensive line. Address our other needs first and stop jumping at every potential defensive lineman that comes our way.
Eh.. i dont see us jumping at defensive linemen..I see us drafting defensive linemen high in the draft and paying them out the wazoo.
Thats fine.. id love to have a young dominant defensive line.. the problem is they arent dominant, they are just young. SO I think we should consider getting a "somewhat" older defensive lineman that IS dominant..and putting him out there. Basically.. we need at least one playmaker on that line.. someone who makes offensive lines cringe... one dominant player will make everyone else look better.
The talent is there.. but none of our Dlinemen are taking the "next step" and becoming superstars. We need a superstar in our pass rush.
All that being said.. my first 2 points are directed at the offensive line and I strongly agree that that needs to be our 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th....77th...921st priority.

I disagree on the third point too. Not saying we don't need one. Nut I think a big nasty DT in the middle will do and you can find them late in the draft. I'm talking like Ted Washington or a Vince Woolford (i think that is his name DT with the Patriots), or a Sam Adams type. Just somebody that demands a double team and that will free things up for Mario and Okoye.

well said man nice to see somebody post constructive criticism instead of acting like the world is ending or wanting to axe a coach.
I also think safety is a huge issue getting burned by Gates happens but leaving him wide opens shows the problem loud and clear.

I wish that one of our defensive lineman had been another DeMeco Ryans, but don't label them busts too quickly. Look at the other premiere defensive lineman in the league... Strahan had seasons of 1, 4.5, 7.5, and 5 sacks before he had a huge season with 14.
...
With that, I just proved myself wrong. Strahan was a lucky first guess, and most other Dlineman were dominant from the start.
Ugh. We just need something.

Thank God you said it here. I just said it on another thread and fully expect to get pounded for it. Schaub looked like he was running scared out there. Take him out and leave him out until he has a chance to heal and he toughens up. Carr was a much worse QB (I wanted to ditch him after season 2) but he was much tougher than Schaub.

Is there any way we can convert Ron Dayne as a blocker? He seems to be able to fall on people pretty well. I say with Echmandu and Walker would be a killer team. oh I did hear chris white was in the second half. Now they just need to get Studdard healthy and remove Salaam from the offense.
It still just sickens me that our players make anywhere from 100k to 5 million and they play like garbage. I get paid hourly and if I do bad at work I get fired or written up and suspended. man its no wonder they play hard in college and relax in the NFL. They got it made.....
