Ok I know this is year 2 of the rebuilding so I just expect a 7-9 or 8-8 record. They are just not ready for the playoffs sorry to say. But it can be a better team with these changes:
1. Time to start Demps and Boulware. I know the safeties got off to a good start but more and more they are getting expose. Van hutchins would be good in dime to replace Boulware but is not a starter. Brown is a good backup. Atleast see how Demps and Boulware will turn out before the off-season so you can see if that is a need.
2. Bench Faggins he is getting killed out there. He just don't have good cover skills. What I would do is put Bennett at the #2. And Fletcher as the nice back. Faggins would be a good dime corner.
3. Bench Dayne!! Time to see what Echamandu got with Ahmad Green. Dayne don't show explosiveness that you need as a running back along with cut back ability. Dayne has neither. Dayne is a good 4th quarter back when you up by two scores and the defense is tired, that is his game.
4. Something about the OL and DL I can't place my finger on it. Maybe because I never played either position. But it seems like nothing major just a player here and there. The offensive line look good RB with a different running back in the game so that go back to reason number 3 up top. PB was not bad could be alot better. the DL need a big runstopper in the middle that demands a double-team. And more of Kalu take Weaver out since he don't make plays anyways move Mario to strong side and Kalu on the weak side. Just a suggestion.

we get no pressure because we cant blitz, we cant cover so we need everyone in coverage. Our DL is young and still not reahed its full potential. Our O line in the middle is weak. Our LT shouldnt even be playing LT. Our line is worn down with no talent. Our Qb is not a franchise QB. We wasted money on FA running backs that know the system but are far from productive enough to execute. We just made bad FA moves the past year.

Wow, I actually agree with just about everything you said here. It would be nice to have a huge DT, but I think Travis and Amobi do a fine job. Other than that I think you are right on with all of your suggestions.

We surely do need O line help. And I also hope we don't draft another D lineman in the first round. But it looks to me like the Texans are drafting to their strenght, and that would be defense. This appears to be the stratagy the team is using......drafting to their strenght.
The good news is there is plenty of O line talent in every round of the draft. The challenge for the Texans is to recognize who has the talent and reel them in.

Rebuilding year again?? When have we not had a rebuilding year? You can't blame the players every week when they come out not ready to play. Houston is assuming that familiar look of a team that expects to lose every game, and that starts at the coin toss. Only the die hard fan can name more than one member of the Colts or the Patriots offensive line, and they seem to get the job done just fine. The difference is they have playmakers on offense that takes the pressure off their lines. And there is quite a few of these players that we passed up to make up our current defensive line, which I guess we need to tear down and rebuild.
I say if we rebuild, get some offensive threats that are proven, kinda like we did with Andre Johnson, and if the games turn out to be track meets so be it.

Not according to "Inside the Game". They and the players and the coach and the GM said we suck. One in the news room said we had an offense line problem for 4 years. Hell, I said that 2 or three years ago and they still didn't fix it? They haven't replaced anybody yet. Those people are still the Dom Capers boys, well, a good majority of them anyway. Worthless POS. The newscasters asked why we have certain players in certain positions that CAN'T play?
There even is a spot somewhere on 13's web site where you can vote which segment of the team sucks the most. I vote for all three.
We sure have had an o-line problem for years. I've been flamed for saying it as have others.

I always believed it was a two headed problem. When carr was here it was the QB and the Oline. I mean look at Carr in Carolina, he looks like he's a one man circus. I wish him the best but he doesn't have what it takes.
Schaub is our franchise QB and I believe he will get better in time but it would only compliment him to have a better Oline. I do believe our weakest link at the moment is our O-line. I think if it's not a lack of skill, it's a lack of respect. Schaub got his chops busted and no one was "fired" up about it. We need an o-line that clicks, that respects each other, that show intensity on the field and have good chemistry. I don't see that now..

And I thank god the texans didn't pull something that stupid! Then we'd be without Okoye, bennett,JJ.
