How do teams the last two weeks blast Matt Shaube and our guys do nothing one I would have blasted the guy hit Shaube and on defense I would take a 15 yarded bt knocking the crud out of their QB one wat or another. Come on stand up for your QB guys show him you got his back. I don't see free agents come here next year the way they are playing. You have the Browns, Lions, and others winning who were not good last year winning. The giants, saints start out bad in a whole but just like magic they start winning again why can we not just win a game. (on my knees) Dear lord I do not pray as often as I should but I am today please lord help my Texans help with thier so call 1 or 2 week injuries that turn in to season long injurys please help them learn thier play books turn it into english so they can read because it must be in spanish. Dear Lord look over Matt Shaube because his line isn't please lord help my Texans look like a real nfl team in your name amen.

Schaub doesn't have an "E" on the end of his name.

If this keeps up, that will be how Matt Schaub willl spell his name.
I agree. Take a friggin penalty but stand up for your guy. Send a message that we won't take that crap. If you are going down, go down with a fight.
Sheesch, we look like a bunch of punks out there with no clue and no sack!

Man, i was thinking the same thing. I was just waiting for one of our guys to stand up and stop being pushed over. Simply pathetic.

No kidding. Look at the replay of Schaub taking that cheap shot. Directly behind him are two Texans O-linemen (I'm assuming it's the left side of the line - Pitts and Salaam). Both are looking in Schaub's direction. Neither of them do anything. No reaction at all. That shot should have started a brawl. Hell, in other sports that kind of play results in an all out melee. The Texans have no fight in them - they aren't willing to protect each other, not even their offensive leader! Two weeks in a row the opposing team has kicked sand in their face and they tuck-tail and run (I'm talking about the absence of any hard hitting, nasty, emotionally charged retaliation - regardless of the score). A team without courage, without heart.

Hey this is the price when you get character guys on your team. I mean, these guys didn't do anything for their QB but they do so much for the community and are upstanding individuals. They represent the team well.
Sarcasm guys.
BTW the title says Or guys are weak. What is the other option? He He!

First of all, I like to share that Matt Schaub do not deserve the salary he's making. $48 million for 6 years? Come on now. This guy had only two starts in the NFL, and was a backup. What a waste! McNair should of give this guy half of a salary and contract, $24 million for 3 years. Then again, Texans should of kept Carr for another year.
Another waste of money, Ahman Green. Every week this injury prone running back is on the sidelines hurt. I don't know his salary, but he has a 4 year contract.
It's not only the coaches. It's the front office making poor decisions too.

Guys like you who call out "spelling" is weak! Last time I checked this is a Texans Comment board, not English 101
They must be English teachers who can't get out of their grading mode or wannabe English majors.
But yeah I wonder what these so called trainers are doing to our guys to strengthen there muscles. I noticed they have a bunch of machine weights. That could be the problem. machine weights all they do is tone you down and hardly give you muscle.

Boy I couldn't agree more! The players and THE COACHES are weak.
Sure there are the few players who are GREAT and not weak at all, very FEW.
(Robinson, Ryans, Johnson, Shuab, 3 others)
the rest of our guys wouldnt even start for another team !!
I don't think Shcaub should be included, he took a cheap shot yesterday yeah but other than that he hasn't been all that tough. He hasn't finished the last 3 games. He's a good QB that can read defenses pretty well, but he doesn't get the tough vote. Hate on me if you want too.

Quit worrying about spelling...the guy has a point. Someone needs to lay someone out as a point to be made. That is...you screw with the Texans and you are gonna pay for it. Unfortunately, we dont have that attitutde. We could use a Joey Porter, Merriman, or an enforcer of any type. I am so frustrated with this team ...

Call me crazy but if one of our guys hadd retaliated and negated the personal foul call, there would be a post on this website about how stupid that guy was. The truth is, I think Shaub is holding the ball too long looking for the big play. If it is not there, go through your progressions. Once the safties start cheating up, then you stretch the field. There have also been occations where the defense brought a 6th guy on a blitz, niether QB seemed to be aware of it and got tattooed for their trouble. That is part of the game. Payton is a master at it. Schaub has to get to that point. This is his eighth career start. He'll learn. As the saying goes, "A hard head makes for a soft behind."

Anybody who says someone is stupid for making sure its not okay to hit their quarterback needs to ****. Last Saturday was a perfect example of how actions send statements: Georgia looked pretty mediocre before they rushed the endzone in celebration after the first touchdown against Florida; afterwards, they dominated on both sides of the ball. Someone on this team needs to do SOMETHING to light the fire.

DC, you're struggling to hold a position at the Panthers, don't be hatin' on us
:p
Ha ha ha, jk!
I agree though with some of the other posters, we need somone to just start stepping up tough wise, probably more in a mental way. It's like we go out in a soft state of mind & there you have it, a loss before hitting the field *shrugs* I don't know what we do now, pray like the OP...???

Schaub was not holding the ball too long when he was hit with a cheap shot. If someone retaliated to protect his quarterback, why would you be upset. If it was Favre, Manning, or Brady, I guarantee you someone was going down. And then you say way to go, protect your investment, don't take no "stuff". But with us we have a bunch of weak wrist sissies here who would complain that we were not smart. For one play, give me tough and let smart rear its head later.
Send a message that we are not taking it, but can dish it out too. We are taking too many punches and deliver NOTHING!

Drayton Florence is a cheap shot artist he probably single handedly cost the chargers the game against the patriots with his cheap shot on Ben Watson on 3rd Down. If it was manning, favre, or brady he probably would have been ejected. But then again I think favre woulda gotten up and gone after him.

From the Chronicle:
Should Texans have retaliated for hits on Schaub?
It's too late now. There's nothing the Texans can do about the illegal hits that knocked quarterback Matt Schaub out of the last two games. But in hindsight, should the Texans have retaliated?
Football is not like baseball where teams often retaliate against the opposing team by hitting their best player with a pitch if their own player is hit. There are football teams with such a mentality, but the Texans are not one of them. This is clearly nothing that the franchise would teach.
"Guys are coming after us, we need to come after them a little more," defensive end N.D. Kalu said. "It's almost like we're too nice out there.
"I didn't see the hit, but if it was dirty, maybe we should have a dirty hit on their quarterback and all chip in and give the fine. We just don't have that mentality and maybe we should get it. It is old school. And that's how football should be played."
There are enough veteran, however, like N.D. Kalu, who have been around the league long enough to know that a defense can help stand up for their own quarterback.
The Albert Haynesworth hit wasn't quite as blatant a cheap shot as the one by Drayton Florence. Yet, still against San Diego, the Texans did nothing. Mario Williams sacking Philip Rivers was by no means a retaliation hit.
Old School! Don't think too long. Take care of your own!

I thought this thread was going to be about all the injuries. A lot of people in this town seem to think that we need to retaliate against the guys taking cheap shots on Schaub. Well, in case you haven't noticed, this team is soft for the most part. We lose a guy on offense every other play and our defense avoids the quarterback like the plague. Doing something after the whistle is just low class. We don't want to become one of those teams.

"One of those teams." A team that stands up for their own? A team that is proud and will not take being pushed around?
If I am going down, it will be with a fight. Not being classy with my tail between my legs.
I don't want to be a dirty team, but this is a physical sport and you must send a message at times.

Look, it isn't hard to take a cheap shot on someone after the whistle blows. If you have a quality defense that dominates, you can do what needs to be done without drawing a flag or a fine.
