View Full Version : We Don't Suck

After yesterday's dismal performance on the road, quite a few people are coming out and saying this team sucks. The opposite is hard to defend, but this team is not as bad as everybody is making them out to be.
They have obviously had some pretty untimely injuries. That's still no excuse though, every NFL team goes through it and that's part of building a good team. Guys are going to go down, you just have to be deep enough to weather the storm, fill holes and continue on.
They are turning the ball over, they are committing ridiculous penalties, and they have looked unprepared for some time now. That is discouraging because if there is one thing a team can undoubtedly bring to the field every Sunday--it's physicality. That stuff falls on the coaches and they have to a much better job getting this team to focus and execute much better. They need to be much tougher also.
I think after going 2-0 you saw a team with all the confidence in the world, they believed in themselves and now it's the opposite. They look like they know they're overmatched and they don't fly around like they did earlier on in the season.
All that being said, this team has a lot to improve on but the biggest issue is confidence and preparation and not necessarily all talent. They absolutely have to execute and not turn the ball over and they will find themselves in games. The fact that this team has looked like they haven't seriously practiced together in almost a month and regardless, that comes back to the coach. I have been a huge supporter and believer in Kubiak, I like his attitude and his style, but it scares me that a team could look that bad and turn the ball over 11 times in 2 games. He still has a lot to learn also, but I need to see some improvement from week to week, not just season to season.

The last 3 games the Texans were totally dominated and really not in any of the games. That may not suck, but I don't think there has been a team in the NFL to play worse over the last 3 games.

I think it's the turnovers and mental mistakes (like the botched punt) that are the main reason for the discontent.
If the Texans were playing nearly mistake-free ball and still losing these games, then many in Houston would be a little more forgiving and realize that it was simply the Texans losing to much superior talent that this team doesn't yet fully possess in all areas.

these are all our playmakers, only 2 solid vets..... we're young and thats how we're playing, we can be dangerous every sunday but the injuries are definatley killing us. i think the same is for some of our coaches, though im not at all impressed with our D play calling, i aint an NFL coach so who knows.... we'll get better as the year goes on, i just hope we can develop an O line as soon as possible. and find a saftey cuz those suck as well....

There is a disconnect because I remember in the postgame after jacksonville that the team was executing great in practice, however they can't execute on gameday. How does that translate into coaching if at practice they do everything right? How can you coach players who do all the right things until its a real game time situation? It seems like we have no leadership on this team.. No one is really getting on anyone. No one has a desire to turn this around.

Sitting on the bench rubbing his temples, Schaub must have been trying to lead telepathically. I never see accountability until its press conference time. Andre didnt get in the WRs face for dropping balls. Dunta sure looked like he was giving his secondary mates an earful sitting quietly on the sidelines. Demeco sure got in opposing players business after Gates walked into the endzone. No One on this team is willing to be our Joey Porter. Sometimes you gotta be the bad guy to get the good out of others.

I think Schaub rubbing his temples stemmed from Florance cleaning his clock, on the cheap no less.
no kidding. Schaub needs to sit and not turn two head shots in consecutive games into an ongoing concussion issue.

I just dont see the passion on the sidelines. I see guys sitting on the bench staring at the jumbo tron. Punch in, punch out. You can be embarrassed all you want I dont see the desire to not be embarrassed while the game is going on.

The Texans don't suck, we just stink. We all love them but its time to face reality. We are in a total meltdown. The blame starts at the top with the coaches and trickles all the way down to the kid who passes out the Gatorade. Bottom line, our guys look clueless half of the time. They have no chemistry, intensity or any of the other factors that will help them win games. You watch the games and they look good one second and then they do a 180, usually when it really counts, blowing things up. I can't explain it but Kubiak needs to do something about it before heads start rolling.

maybe heads need to start rolling I am all for releasing alot more players that are not performing. Heck Id rather replace them with scrubs who want to play but have less talent. Id like to see someone who looks like they want to make the most out of the opportunity.

Ever had a concussion? If not, imagine the worst headache you have ever had times ten and coming and going for days on end. I had to take finals two weeks later due to my concussion. It hurt every time I tried to read.
If I'm Trent Green, I'm retiring after this season.
