View Full Version : Anyone else turn off the Chargers game?

Ok I have to ask....
First of all I know that I dont post very often, but most of the threads people start are very similar: "Mario sucks!" or "O-Line sucks!" etc and dont need another complaining fan adding to them. But I do read the boards quite often and last week everyone was complaining about people not staying to watch the 4th quarter MIRACLE against the Titans. Now I was one of the few who stayed till the end, although we were tailgating outside Reliant watching it on TV.
But I have to admit I turned the TV off this past Sunday against the Chargers for the first time.............
I still cant believe it.... I have endured soooo many losses since 2002, so many smack talking rival NFL fans and dealt with last years draft of Mario while living in Austin where VY is considered a God.
I live for Sundays and I look forward to them all week but my patience wears thin I guess.
Did anyone else turn the game off pre 4th quarter?

I didn't. I wanted to see if anything good would happen.

like the guy on the direct tv ad says when his team is getting pounded......"i took it like a man" and watched the WHOLE thing.
i guess i'm a glutton for punishment.

I turned the game off for the last 4 minutes of the 2nd quarter, then got back in it for the 3rd quarter. I struggled with the decision. Part of me says, "A true fan watches until the bitter end." The other part of me said, "A true fan holds the organization, coaches, and players accountable and doesn't give them a free pass." It appeared the team didn't show up physically or emotionally for the game. It was painful to watch. Of course I'll hang in there hoping for a miraculous turn around to the season. Without a running game (and the personnel to make the running game happen), it will take a miracle to get more than 6 wins. How sad.

because I felt something would happen. This week, I gave up and did lawn work in the second half. I just thought the Titans were not strong enough to keep us from making a game of it. The Chargers team made me feel diferent.

had to miss some of it! I thought I had a legit reason to miss the second half since my son broke his arm and I had to take him to the ER but they had the game on in the ER. Just adding insult to injury!

Ouch thats a rough day.
I did turn it on a couple times to check the score in the second half but to me thats the same as turning off the game entirely. I am still a fan but **** it can be sooo frustrating at times.

If you were a real fan, your son couldn't break his arm because he would have been watching the game. Wait, maybe he broke when he slammed it into the TV because he was upset.
Just kidding of course. Hope your son is OK.

I almost turned it off but I could not do it .
I didn't turn it off but when Schaub threw the second interception, I went outside and walked around the yard for awhile and then returned to the game.

After waiting all week for the game... noway I'll miss a play. All ways looking to see if the whole team plays together. Hey, they ain't heavy, it's my team.
Did the same thing I always do & that is watching the game till the end. Always do & I always will. That is the only way to measure a teams progress. Took a step backwards this week. This game did prove a point & that is with a better back than Dayne they can run the ball.

Oh I watched the whole thing. People walking in to the living room asking me why I was still watching it in the 4th quarter. I didn't want to say, "just in case they pull another 4th quarter comeback." That might have jinxed them(didn't work). But I do have to admit for the first time in my life I was considering figure skating.:p

I listened on 610. Didn't have the misfortune of being able to watch it.

I guess because he is Nigerian? Isn't that why Gado wore #35? There was only one Nigerian Nightmare, HAKEEM OOOOOOOLLAJUWON!
Yeah, Christian Okoye was Gado's favorite player growing up.
My fault. I created a separate thread for this post.
