There is a pool of Day 1 players I'd like the Texans to consider:

Round 1
Ryan Clady
Jonathan Stewart
Reggie Smth
Keith Rivers
Kenny Phillips
Mike Hart

Round 3
Chauncey Washington
Chris Williams (if he lasts)
Charles Godfrey (if he lasts)
Jamaal Charles (if he lasts)
DeJuan Tribble

i think we'll be looking at

Kenny Phillips
Reggie Smith
Jonathan Stewart
Sam Baker
Ryan Clady

I think one of those guys will be our 1st rounder.

for our 3rd rounder
Chris Williams
Tony Hills
Quintin Demps
Charles Godfrey
Cory Boyd

I must say that I wouldn't be terribly disappointed if the Texans went with Rivers in Round 1, Godfrey in Round 3 and Washington in Round 4....then signed Chris Samuels in Free Agency.

Didn't they change the draft this year to only rounds 1 & 2 on day 1? Or is that the 2009 draft?

I don't have a problem with that but rivers isn't a top 15 prospect and will likely be available in the 20-30 range. If the texans like him that should look into tradeing down and picking up an additional pick.

I think we will take a defensive player in the first round. It looks like the team philosophy is to draft to our strenght, defense. Kenny Phillips would be a great pick. We need what he has.....talent.

As far as the later rounds go?

OT Heath Benedict, 6’6” 335lbs. Newberry College

OG Chad Rinehart, 6' 4" 310 lbs. Northern Iowa

OT Brandon Keith, 6' 5" 337 lbs. Northern Iowa

S Corey Lynch, 5' 11" 205 lbs. Appalachian State

RB Jerome Felton, 5' 11" 248 lbs. Furman

These guys will all be available, and they will all have something to prove. No big names here but from what is available to read about them, they are all players and they are going to need a paycheck. Lets face it, we need players, not stars.

Corey Lynch is a stud. I can't speak intelligently about the other guys.

I think we look for Kenny Phillips in the first.

If not available, we take Jonathan Stewart.

If Stewart is gone, we will most likely trade down to get Ray Rice and a FS.

* We could trade our 1st and 3rd pick for a lower 1st pick, 2nd pick, and 4th pick. *

That is this year, and yes we are going to have to come up with a new name for the top 3 rounds.

The changes also change the importance of the 4th round. In prior years, teams had overnight to realign their boards, target guys and make phone calls to try and work out trades, well that now moves to the 3rd, and the actual time of the picks really drops on the 2nd day.

So our only 1st day pick this year is our 1st rounder.

So the title of this thread should be day 2 prospects.

My 4th rounder is Adam Krause G/C out of Michigan - Versatile lineman that can effectively play both positions.

any projections of where he will go?

6th or 7th Round probably, just because he plays at a Bowl Subdivision school and everyone is going to have questions about him making it at the next level.
