Has anyone looked at the season stats lately? I thought it was really interesting how their stats are very similar.

att comp yrds comp% ypa TD TD% int int% long sacks rating
Matt Schaub 248 167 1951 67.3 7.9 7 2.8 7 2.8 77 13/100 88.6

Sage Rosenfels 93 61 729 65.6 7.8 7 7.5 6 6.5 53 1/1 87.6

Another thing I found interesting is a total of only 14 sacks thru 10 games. So much for "The worst line in football".

stats found on www.houstontexans.com

To repeat what I said this summer... I'm glad we have both.

I found it more interesting that we have gotten more sacks than we have given up... definitely cause for excitement.

We are very close to having a very good Oline. Salaam needs to be replaced, but he wasn't meant to start anyway. If Big SPence comes back and either McKinney or another OC and our line will be fine. Now we can work on our secondary and RB situation.

interesting...although i gotta believe over a 16 game span sage rosenfels would show why he is a good backup (as the numbers tell) and not a starter....

Even Kubiak has stated Sage is good enough to be a starter. he proved it during the Raiders game.

I wasn't meaning this thread for a start Sage ramble. I think and have wanted Schaub to be the starter since we traded for him. I was just stunned by the close similarities in their stats. Although this does make me feel comfortable to know we have a decent backup QB. And very stoked on the low # of sacks. Now if we can stop the turnovers!!!!!!!!

As if it could've been avoided. ;)

I think its fair to say that the last game against NO was the best production the Texans have ever gotten from the quarterback position in franchise history. Schaub can do even better, but last game was the best I have ever seen from a Texans QB. This makes me happy we have Schaub.

Sage is rock solid. We need to hold onto him even though he is only being used as a backup because without Sage, there would be no wildcard threads on this board right now. He is undefeated as a starting QB for the Houston Texans. Like the numbers suggest, Sage has been very good with this organization.

The offense is playing well.. but about the "So much for having the worst oline in the NFL" comment.. i dont know if its the WORST oline..but we are in the bottom half of the league despite the sack totals.

When we have gone up against good defensive lines, we have really struggled. Lets not forget that 2-3 game stretch where Schaub was turned in to a Shish KaShaub by every DE we faced.

Oline needs to be our VERY TOP priority this offseason.. we need to grab any good olineman we can possibly get our hands on.

Personally I feel we are very fortunate to have two QB's who are quite capable. There are several teams in the NFL who would love to have this dilema.;)
