Texas A&M will announce the hiring of their new Head Coach Mike Sherman Monday at 11:00 AM CST. I'm happy for Mike. He's wanted another HC job since he left Green Bay and I really think he'll do well with Mike Goodson and Co. in College Station. Congratultions Mike!

I know there seems to be a backlash by a good bit of the Ags against Mike, but I think if true it is a fantastic hire.

Now the bigger question is will he stay for the reminder of the season. A bit different than waiting for the move to Air Force.

There is a link that specifically mentions Sherman as A&M's guy.

Ya, looks like we may not be getting anymore ex-Packers.... (good news, IMO)

Not disputing that Sherman looks to be the guy, but that is a dead link.

I hope Mike Sherman don't bring the losing cruse from Texans to A&M.

Since when was Sherman up for the job? I thought we were thinking (worried?) that Kubiak was going to be offered it...

um....you guys were winning?

is that why you "fired" your head coach?

Blah ha aha ha ha!!!!

I predicted this back when people were saying Kubiak would go. I knew Mike Sherman would get the call. You have to think of who is going to bring in recruits. Mike has a great reputation with NFL people and that should bring in recruits.

If Kyle Shanahan is going to be the new OC, I hope they let Sherman go now and get some on the job training for Kyle with the fact that the playoffs are out of reach this year. It would give us a better chance out of the gates next year. Given the lack of creativity I've seen in the offense this year, I for one would be excited to see some new blood involved in the play calling.

We beat Texas. That is all that matters. :D

i agree because of the bolding. maybe we'll see some new faces getting mixed in too...white, studdard, walker, and so on. it's also going to be nice to see kubiak's offense, instead of gary shermiak presents the wild west coast zone blocking power scheme 9000!!

really i think it depends on how kubiak wants to finish the season. does he want to really give it the go to try and break even? or does he want to see what he's got in a few fresh faces and keep the building blocks moving?

I hope Kyle gets the job. I like Mike Sherman, but he is now committed to A&M.

Give Kyle the reins to work with Kubiak ASAP, in my opinion.

I think this is a win-win for both A&M and the Texans.

I think Mike Sherman is a good fit for A&M and will do well there.

I also think it is good for the Texans to distance themselves from the "Green Bay" influence.
