Anyone know if the game will be shown in Tyler and if so, what station? I will be out of town this weekend and wanted to catch the game.

jayvilla,
I can't say for certain about this week, but in the Tyler area the game is usually shown every week on CBS affiliate KYTX channel 19

Tyler representin up on the boards! I live just outside of Tyler....unfortunately it's Cowboys territory (imagine the environment I had to deal with today at work)
To answer you question, most of the games are broadcast on CBS since we are in the AFC and Tyler has a local CBS affiliate. The cable company doesn't offer NFLN but they do have CBSHD. There have only been two games that I haven't been able to see this year. One was put on the back shelf for a Colts game and the other was on Fox. There isn't a local Fox affiliate in Tyler that I know of and the feed comes out of Shreveport if I'm not mistaken, which means the Texans don't get priority. :(
But rest assured. We are playing the Titans and both of us are AFC South so the game should be on CBS.

Hydro, the local FOX affiliate is KFXK out of Longview, but they get feed out of Dallas and Shreveport. It is seen in most East Texas towns and carried by many cable companies in the area. The upshot is that The texans are not priority for FOX in this area. BTW I live outside of Tyler also. Ever hear of Kilgore?

i live in nacogdoches, south of tyler/longview and if it weren't for "nfl sunday ticket" on direct tv, i'd be screwed! they manage to show someone other than the texans almost every week.
this area is cowboy heavy too. it's sad considering i'm less than 2 hours away from houston. oh well.........

Strangely enough....the Packer/Cowboys game was on www.nfl.com. You might want to start there.

Yeah my wife went to school in Kilgore....not much there really except booze. And that's a plus since it's not far and I live in a freakin dry county

Where are you from man? I just moved to H-Town from Tyler myself. We still own a house in Lindale and I went to school in Chapel Hill. On subject the showing of the game depends on what higher market team is playing if they show it or not. It being Cowboy country they played last night so that wont interfere. I've spent a few Sundays over the last several years watching play-by-play on CBS Sportsline b/c of the Colts or someone else.
I just bought a house in Whitehouse, just south of Tyler about 10 miles. I'm sure you're familiar with the area. It's blowing up with new construction in this area...tons of property for sale and the location aint bad.
Yeah when the pre-empt our game for the Colts I'm usually forced to watch the play by play online or other measures. Sometimes they'll show it on one of the local broadcast channels but the reception sux.

Sweet. It's good to know I'm not the only one representing the Texans up this way...we need to get a game party going when they get the Buffalo Wild Wings built....only prob is it won't be this season
The thing that sux is the only good wings place is Wingstop...and they have two little *** tvs.

No kidding. That has been difficult to adjust to. They don't want you buying alcohol and taking it home to drink but they don't mind you getting loaded at a bar or restaurant and driving home....seems pretty backwards to me.
Overall I like the area. The cost of living is way cheaper and the scenery is nice. I'm literally 2 miles from Lake Tyler. I miss Houston but I don't miss the congestion and traffic.

Listen up Tyler Texan fans....if you're like me and you don't have NFLN the game will be on at the Pub. $2 beer specials. I'll be there with my Texans gear on so if you don't have plans come help me fend off the Cowgirl homers.....you know they're going to try and stir things up.
Only problem is......and I'm ashamed to say this publicly......my only battle Red Jersey still has HeWhoShallNotBeNamed on the back.....I just can't roll like that so I'll either be wearing my Steel Blue Meco jersey or a red nike shirt with the rest of my gear
would I be jinxing us if I don't go Battle Red?? quick, someone help me decide before the game
