I'm not surprised. Why don't they put him on IR already?

So what else is new?

I guess he heard that Haynesworth will be back on the line. Green is just scared to go heads up with him. What are we paying this guy for? Who needs another player that just wants to come over to the team to collect a paycheck....

Hey, members of the Texans organization who decided to sign Green... for the thousandth time - we (myself and a lot of us anyway) told you so.

Put him on IR. Just get it over with and give Walker or Echemandu a shot.

Shame on me for forgetting Green's mileage. 1st-3rd Round RB here we come!

Sorry, but who is the guy " Green " anyway? I don't know any of the Part-Time players.

You took the words right out of my mouth.

Or I should say that you hit a Bulls Eye with that statement. lol

I just expect him not to play every week. I hope he was just renting down here.

What is the NFL's return policy?

Bagwell's shoulder got worse that spring when he had the 2 foot long goat-tee. Perhaps Green should cut off that patch and inprove his outlook.:D

I would be be happy with McFadden's teammate, Felix Jones.

sorry heres the link,I think the only reason why we haven't just put him on IR yet is because we believe we can get SOMETHING out of him.Even if its 2-3 weeks.

So, let me ask you this.

Was the Green signing better, or worse than the signing of Todd Wade?

Was the Green signing better, or worse than the signing of Anthony Weaver?

I can't believe I was one of the supporters of this trade. Guess I just remembered how good of a job he did in Green Bay and got all misty when we decided to pick him up. Now I feel like the nerdy guy who got all dressed up for the prom because the head of the cheerleading squad told him she'd go with him.

90 days, original reciept required.

Ahman Green (http://sports-ak.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=1432)
Running Back

Status: Out
News: Green (knee) is out for Sunday's game at Tennessee.
Scouts Take:
Green's days as an every-down back probably are over. His knees have given him trouble for years, and at age 30 he seems to have lost some explosiveness. His pass-catching skills could keep him in the league for a while longer, if he wishes, but his body no longer can handle a regular 20-carry load.

I feel like a guy who fell for the fake Rolex sales pitch. When I showed it off to my friends, the crystal fell out.

And what would we gain out of it? The season is over and so should Green in Houston.. We needed him the last 2-3 weeks, no need to use him now. Texans should cut their loses and move on, go younger. The signing was a bust, but it was worth a gamble.

the season is over ?

Who is that directed to?

Everybody who has an opinion?

Do we not have a clause in the contract stating the he must have a minimum amount of playing time or games played in to reach a certain percentage of his contract? I don't know for certain, but most people are acting like he's getting the full amount of his contract when certainly a good amount of that has to do with incentives.

USA TODAY ARTICLE (http://asp.usatoday.com/sports/football/nfl/salaries/teamdetail.aspx?year=2007&team=13&order=CapValue+desc)

Player Base Salary Sign Bonus Other Bonus Total Salary Cap Value Position
Weaver, Tony $ 2,500,000 $ 6,000,000 $ 106,720 $ 8,506,720 $ 5,206,720 DE
Greenwood, Morlon $ 3,264,000 $ 0 $ 200,000 $ 3,364,000 $ 4,764,000 LB
Pitts, Chester $ 2,405,000 $ 800,000 $ 275,000 $ 2,480,000 $ 4,290,000 OL
Green, Ahman $ 1,500,000 $ 5,000,000 $ 1,505,280 $ 8,005,280 $ 4,255,280 RB
Schaub, Matt $ 950,000 $ 4,500,000 $ 2,550,000 $ 8,000,000 $ 4,250,000 QB
Johnson, Andre $ 1,000,000 $ 6,850,000 $ 5,280 $ 7,855,280 $ 4,035,042 WR

I'm pretty sure these numbers are accurate and up to date. Really the cap hit is the most important (very last dollar amount) number on this little chart.

The fact that Morlon Greenwood is the second highest paid player on this team along with Anthony Weaver being first is a freaking tavesty in my eyes.

EDIT: I take that back, he has the 2nd highest cap hit. Highest paid player on this team is Mario.

Texans signed a VERY bloated contract when they brought in Weaver.

Shoot Tracy Mcgrady plays more than him... I thought McGrady was soft.

Thankfully AJ is not the sort of person to throw a teammate or an organization under the bus.
