I must say every time I see or hear Mario it really shows who he is. To me he is a soft spoken player that lets his play speak for him. I am really glad that the Texans have him on our team, and hopefully he will be on our team for a VERY long time.
Just my .02, anyone else agree?

McClain is an *****. He probably wrote that Mario was a no-show during last weeks game, and that VY is the best player ever to step foot on the field. I cant stand he and Richard Justice.
Wouldnt surprise me if Mario did treat McClain like a steaming pile of horse ****. He kind of earned that with his relentless bashing of Mario and the Texans after we picked him #1 overall...and his incessant VY **** gobbling.

Where are you getting that? I've never heard/seen McClain say/write anything anti Mario's character. It takes a major screw up (beyone driving fast) or attitude to make the jerk, punk and loser list. Unless your name is DelRio or Belichick....

The interview after the Bronco game of NFLN proves that point

Mario Williams reminds me of Bob Sanders. They are both so incredibly aggressive on the field and their level of play is thoroughly contagious. Yet, they are very soft spoken, well spoken, and present themselves with class.
Sometimes when I listen to both of them talk... its hard to believe that either one of them are as ferocious as they are on the playing field.
Great find in Mario.

I agree. It is definitely contagious, everybody feeds off that energy. Plus, I love when I see playmakers and stars be humble and let their play say it all. The Colts D is def not the same without Sanders.
You got Sanders this week, but no DL, no RT and no Marv. Should be a good game. I think Indy is gaining a real advantage that should pay off come playoff time by being able to get their young guys on the field and get them battle ready.

It was Justice. My bad.
Williams had what appeared to be a meltdown during Wednesday's media session at Reliant Stadium. He has gotten increasingly testy and unapproachable with local reporters in recent weeks, as if it's our fault that he's not the player he's supposed to be. No matter who you think the Texans should have drafted, there's almost no debate that Mario Williams has been a huge disappointment.

Considering what Justice had been spewing from April '06 until his latest flip flop, 'testy and unapproachable' coming from Mario isn't that hard to believe. But it's quite possible that ire might be reserved for certain media members and not reflective of Mario's true character. Where has Lopez been? IIRC, he wrote one of the more scathing bust columns and I haven't seen him around.
Like him or not, Robertson is on a bit of a mini-roll with his columns recently. He's written a couple of very thoughtful, informative and insightful pieces in the last week or so. Very un-chronlike.

Speaking flip-flopping, this is what Justice wrote in his blog just yesterday (http://blogs.chron.com/sportsjustice/archives/2007/12/)....
He's not yet a finished product, but as of right now, he's one of the best things to come out of this season for the Texans. That he was even in the Pro Bowl conversation tells you how far he has come.
And that IS a good question regarding Lopez. Where is HIS retraction? If ESPN can admit they were wrong about Mario, what about the Texans' own home town sports newsguys??
Anyone seen/heard Lopez belly-up for his serving of crow?
:D
