CBS.SportsLine.com narrows in on the recent rumors and gossip surrounding players, coaches and teams.

Team by TeamArizona Cardinals (http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/teams/page/ARI)Updated:06/15/2007Kevin Barry might not be unemployed for long. Barry was released by the Green Bay Packers last Friday and is expected to meet with some teams over the next couple of weeks. According to the Racine Journal-Times, the Cardinals and Houston Texans are among the teams not only looking for veteran offensive linemen, but could use a guy like Barry, who fits into their power-run blocking schemes.
Could be an interesting pickup if we were to look into him.

"Barry suffered a ruptured left quadricep May 21, 2006 — the last day of a mini-camp."
The article continues on to say that the injury has completely healed and the reason for him being released had nothing to do with his injury but it still makes me think of Tony Boselli...

I still don't understand how we went from a finesse zone blocking scheme to a "mauler" type off. line

Because Kubiak wants to run the ball period. None of this quick hitch 1st down pass plays. No stretch plays, He wants to run it down your throat. You need OL with a good mean streak to really get after the the defense and intimidate and hopefully catch the defense moving backwards to avoid gettin pancaked.
Nothing helps you run it down their throat like a lineman that is looking to punish defenses on every play. Finesse is great for trick plays and change of pace. But come playoff time the teams that get after it in the running game, tend to go far in the playoffs. Look what Deuce McCallister did to the Philadelphia eagles in last years playoffs.
