So, we all seemed to think Walter Thomas, the troubled yet humongous powerhouse DT from some Community College via OK State, later picked up as an Undrafted Free Agent by the Saints?

Seems that he didn't even make it thru day one of conditioning before having to be helped off the field and had his locker cleaned out.

JC doesn't really translate into NFL, I guess.

No I don't remember this guy?
Why do you bring it up is more my question?

I still want the guy as training camp fodder. That athleticism is freaky. The article said he needed work on conditioning, that can be worked on.

Do you want Bennie Joppru back as well?
I am not touching a guy that has poor conditioning. Because sometimes when you are that big, its almost impossible to condition him at the level needed for him to be a solid player.

Why did you add that thing about Joppru? I did not think conditioning was his problem, he was just unlucky. Maybe I was wrong though.
Anyway. Sign the guy at the league minimum, and put him on the practice squad.

He had to be helped off the field after 15 minutes.

I know, I read the article. Does it hurt to sign a guy for a really low amount to see if he has potential? He went undrafted, thsn he got cut. He is gonna be happy just to get offers. Make him work on conditioning, maybe something will happen.

If he got help off the field after 15 mins he won't get any offers.

Wow sounds like me in a pilates class. 15minutes and I have to be carted out.
Yea leave this guy alone if his conditioning is that bad there is NO WAY you can improve his conditioning without years - (Plural) of commitment. We can't waste money on that.

How much money would we really be spending here? An undrafted FA probably isn't even getting a signing bonus, so cutting him would cost us nothing.
But I agree, if he can't last 15 minutes, he has almost no shot of ever making an NFL squad. He'd have to spend the next several months improving his conditioning and then try to work his way onto a roster.

Uh.....if Travis Johnson and Jerome Mathis are in Kubiak's dog house over their level of commitment to the "big picture" of this team, what makes anybody think that we'd sign this guy?
I feel for the guy, but it's like Gabe from The Ultimate Fighter (the guy who ate all the time, then couldn't make weight for his fight)--You gotta' know that it's mandatory to be in good shape.
Ouch.

Walter Thomas? Galveston Ball High, OK State to some community college...just no room for a 300+ pounder that can do cartwheels...lol

There's really nothing going on right now if this is the kind of stuff we're dredging up to discuss.
