Here is Kubes outlook on the playoff future for the Texans

That was something that we started chasing this year," Kubiak said. "We thought we had a good enough football team to do that this year. That will be our goal from now on, and that was talked about last year and that won't change .... I would hope that we can get our football team good enough and have enough confidence in what we're doing that every year we don't do that, we consider it a big disappointment. I'm all in for that, but I know we have to get better as a football team to get there."

You really have to love the mention of playoff pursuit from your HC and that this is his goal from here on out.The rest of the article is a good read with questions being answered about the runningbacks and secondary.

Green returns next season, and it is likely Ron Dayne (http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/player/70306) will be back as well. The Texans (http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/team/67071) will also have Darius Walker (http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/player/480939) and Chris Taylor (http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/player/70570). While they will look for a capable starter in case injuries befall Green again, the Texans (http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/team/67071) are hoping much of their improvement comes with the help of new assistant head coach Alex Gibbs.

As for the RB's he says he still needs to find out who will be the man, basically not satisfied with the running game.

"We have to look hard at our secondary. We have to have guys that can go out there and lock some of those guys down so we can be aggressive and blitz and those types of things. I think our secondary is a concern. Dunta Robinson (http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/player/200313), when is he coming back? Right now, we're talking about midseason, so that makes it even more of a concern. You have a young rookie (Fred Bennett) back there that has very quickly become our strength back there, and that's a young kid. We have a lot of work to do back there to become an improved defensive football team."

That's what you gotta love about Kubiak......how he is addressing the problem. Ray Rhodes. I'm telling you, what ever the Texans do in the draft or via FA, I have to believe our days of having a push-over D backfield are over.:D

So his priorities are: (?)
"We have to go out and find some young kids. We have to find some guys that are going to be in it for the long haul and be there."
Drafting two running backs?
"You have a young rookie (Fred Bennett) back there that has very quickly become our strength back there, and that's a young kid. We have a lot of work to do back there to become an improved defensive football team."
Signing FA's for the secondary?

Kubiak has this team headed in the right direction. Now we have to improve in the division.

In Kubiak we trust! Looking forward to an exciting season with the new coaches and (fingers crossed) fewer injuries. This past season, having our best player, Andre Johnson out for seven games may have cost us a playoff berth.

That's our MAIN goal now, we were amazing outside of the division this past season and managed only one win (which really doesn't even count) in the division. I would think Kubes is going to bolster the secondary at any cost this offseason and these coaches we've hired are just the beginning!! I am am very excited about our chance this season to make some SERious playoff noise.

not only that but also on the road, we have not done well on road consistently. If we can split or go 4-2 in division and win some more road games we can be in playoffs from now on. You right about Coach Kubiak getting us going in right direction

I do feel a hell of a lot better about our offseasons than when it was Capers and Casserly.

Who are you tellin'? The AFC South will be a tough one for a while. I can see this division being like the NFC East of the early 90s getting to Superbowls and such - just hope we aren't the Eagles of that bunch that didn't make it.

Am I the only one on this board that thinks the Texans at full strength can take the Titans?

The Jags and Colts short of bad decisions during the offseason and injuries will be hard to beat, but the Titans really aren't that much better than the Texans in the last couple years that I have seen them.
