I would just like to say that the offseason before the 2005 season pretty much set this team back three years, so here we are, 8-8, poised to make the playoff run that we should have made back in 2005. There's a reason that we have so few players from the Capers/Casserly era -- they sucked. Casserly was all about potential. Every draft pick was about potential and measurables, not what they did on the field. Carr had one good season in college. Gaffney was young and could have developed into something special. Pitts had only played football for a few years, so he had a high ceiling. Joppru had good workout numbers. Wand had a high ceiling despite playing at BFE State. Peek had great measurables. Babin played well in the MAC but was forced to change positions in the NFL and wasn't allowed to be aggressive (Capers' read and react 3-4 was so ghey!). We traded way too much for Babin and Buchanon, who was in the doghouse in Oakland for sucking, but we still gave up a 2nd and a 3rd to get him because "he's a playmaker". We gave ridiculous contracts to Walker, Wade, Weaver, Greenwood, Smith, Wiegert, and more. We let Aaron Glenn go and our secondary has never been the same. There's just way too much these guys messed up.

Come on...don't tell me you never beat the hell out of a dead horse before...I'm calling PETA!:eek:Hell I'm all for throwing a dead horse beating party!!!!!
Personally I blame the price of gas, hurricane Rita, the high cost of living, third world suffering, Iraq war, hurricane Katrina and any other devasting catastrophe on C and C.
The one thing I most defintely do not blame on the two is the recent success of the Texans..... that blame lies solely on Kubes and Smith. ;)

I blame them for my record level blood pressure reading that just recently came down, I blame them for many many migraines, I blame them for exhaustion from the many sleepless nights. I blame them for my lack of fingernails and the fact that my voice has been hoarse from yelling at the TV. I blame them for the 4 years they took off my lifespan and the 4 years that I won't ever get back.

alright, see these last few things is what i was going for, not necessarily texans, because like somebody already said, its been done over and over again. I mainly meant things they werent really responsible. People on these boards have such a great sense of humor and i just want to see what they can come up with.

It goes to show you Casserly didn't know jack about football.
drafted Carr at #1 and got Tony Bosseli
oh and Jamaal Brown(I think that is his name) not ready to be a pro-football offensive line-man and we didn't draft him. That was also a good one too!

I had never really vented my frustration of the past regime, so it's totally new for me. Anyway, I am a firm believer that Capers and Casserly are the reasons that bad things happen to good people. They're both like King Midas, except instead of everything they touch turning to gold, it turns to ****.

Easy, and issue that was 100% related to either from day 1 till their last.
And the biggest...letting Carr get killed, and after that KEEPING him. When a horse has a broken leg you shoot it...they should of shot Carr. Had they not thrown him in to die, maybe we would of had afew more wins...the world will never know.

I blame CC for the mental abuse David Carr suffered. He could possibly make a case if he wasn't such a nice guy... and possible brain damage.
And I blame them for my being unemployed during the summer of 2006. I mentioned the Texans once at an interview and bam, no job. Yeah, they were gone but their ghosts still haunted the team at the time.

Oh really? I've found quite the opposite. Yes some, but most are so freakin' serious about football that they don't even notice a joke when it flys up and hits them.
I still try to get someone to laugh here and there but it is hard work that takes dedication and persistance. Things i'm not too good at these days.
Anyway, i'd like to blame the old coach(i've forgotten his name on purpose){blood pressure reasons also}for every time we had third down and 8+ and thought we could run the draw play and get that first down. Or the run to the left. It was sickening. I know Carr couldn't throw but 4-5 yards downfield but at least it was a chance to get that first down. Anyway..i have too many issues with the way the old Texans were managed to start complaining now. I did that back then. From here on out i have been happy as a lark with our progress. Just handing Dallas a beat down in preseason this year seemed to make all those other issues fade away.
Good luck with the finding humor. ;)

Last i heard Casserly was working for the NFL and making appearances on espn or somewhere as a supposed "expert analyst"! who would ever hire that man after the job here did here? i honestly think the man is a Jedi. its the only explaination.
Boss man: "so i see hear you have been the GM of one of the worst teams in football for the last FIVE years. Did you in herrit a bad team from someone who had no idea what they were doing?"
CC: "No sir, it was actually a brand new team when i get there and i made all of the decisions and picks. Yep, it was hard work but i never quit. those guys kept trying, but i made sure to get rid of anyone who looked like they had promise to make room for the guys who didnt. It was only fair to the bad right? Otherwise no one would hire them."
Boss man: "So why should i even consider hiring you? you are obviously a complete moron and suck at life."
CC slowly waves his hand infront of him as he says: "You see that it was only bad luck and poor circumstances. I am actually a genius and very handsom."
Boss Man: "You're right. And you are incredibly good looking. You're hired."

Also, i think whoever Casserly points out as a good pick or a sleeper can either blame Casserly for them sucking for the rest of their career, or thank him because they are going to get paid way more than they ever should.

Man the XFL was gone so fast after it started that i didnt even get to see one stinkin game! i was pissed too b/c i watched wrestling back then and heard all of the build up and advertisement. It was billed to be like Blitz (the amazingly awesome Nintendo 64 version, not the crappy versions they came out with later for other consoles) so i was psyched to see it. alas it was not meant to be.
:edit:
I just realized that it had to have been casserly's fault! i dont think the Texans were even a team when that happened so it means he actually started abusing me to practice before he started going after every one else.
