Anyone know much about this guy? Mayock had him in the top 20 players of the draft and is thinking about putting him in the top ten. He plays guard for Virginia, but Mayock thinks he can be a franchise LT.
At 6'7 315, he's definitely has the size, and from the tape they showed he looks extremely athletic. I'm not sure what rd he's projected in though.

I'm not really sure why Mayock would say that. Albert hasn't played OT since 2004, when he was in high school. He started at OG all three years at UVa and was never tried at OT. He' going to be the first OG off the board regardless, but I'm really curious why Mayock thinks he can be a franchise LT.

He also said that he filled in as the tackle for 2 games at Virginia. I'll try to find the video of Mayock talking about him.

Mayock is right about him filling in at tackle. I had thought he was a guard only so I looked at his official profile on Virginia's site, but they only had him as a guard. I looked again and found this:
Albert will be graded by some teams as a tackle prospect after fairing well at left tackle in two starts due to injury to starter Eugene Monroe.

I'm wary of drafting players to play positions they have limited experience at. Remember Tony Hollings? Also, I would think if Albert played so well at OT, he would have remained the starter. That being said, some consider Monroe to be a better prospect than Ferguson was, so that may have more to do with Albert's return to guard. Either way, I'd love to see the film if you could find it.

That was really impressive. In terms of pulling and blocking in the second level, he's great. I'm still not sold on him at tackle since he got beat so easily by the spin move, but he has great mobility.

Albert is a very athletic lineman. Albert may very well be able to play LT. The problem here is it would take some time to became adjusted to the new poosition. For that reason I don't see him in the top 20. Albert is definitely the top OG in the draft. With that said I should note that Spencer came out of college as a OG.

I heard that he also had a great punch and long arms, so that might have si=omething to do with the comment.

Those are two traits that the texans look for.
