Don't think I've seen anyone post this yet.

According to Great Blue North Draft Report:

Raiders resign back; could affect top of draft… Oakland has re-signed RB running back Justin Fargas in a move that addresses one of the Raiders’ most pressing issues this off-season. Fargas, who ran for over 1,000 yards in 2007 despite starting only 7 games, signed a three-year, $12M contract that reportedly includes $6M guaranteed this season. In re-signing Fargas the Raiders are expected to cut ties with veteran backs Lamont Jordan and Dominic Rhodes, but still have Michael Bush, who missed his entire rookie season while recovering from a broken leg, around. The move could also have an impact on the early going at the 2008 draft. The Raiders had been thought to be very interested in selecting Arkansas RB Darren McFadden with the 3rd or 4th pick, but with Fargas resigned the Raiders could look instead at one of DTs Sedrick Ellis of USC or LSU‘s Glenn Dorsey at that spot.

Could push another RB down to us. Decisions, decisions.

I still don't think that would stop them. Look at San Diego!! They have RB's galore! Sproles and Turner could start for any team.

But I hope your right.

If that's tru I say Mendenhall. Stewart is great and all but what fatback/bulldozer lasts that long as a primary ball carrier?

DB's are loaded this year, even tho they're arguably not that strong this year. Otah and Cherilous might be worth a 1st rounder, but only if we trade down and buy ourselves back into the 2nd and land a future pick above the 4th.

Everything else is not an immediacy issue, unless we fail to sign someone important

Heard that. Remember Gregg Jones from FSU , now a Jag, everyone was saying the same thing. Saying that he was a beast and he could take over games like he did at FSU. But of course that didn't happen, now he's jus a fullback, and a poor blocking one at that.

Darren Sproles couldn't start for any NFL team at RB.

I agree he's a bit on the "tiny" side, but Tomlinson would throw a hissy fit if he didin't get the ball.
